BEST BAND EVER: Results!

Edit - forgot we only choose one.

Buckley is a great singer, but my preference is for more power and flair on the higher notes, and as Diesel has already said; if we were putting together our ultimate band here, a more typical metal voice is a better fit. I like Marcolin a lot better. Phil Collins' voice, while technically good, has a bit of a twang that grates on me. Stu Block is a very versatile singer. His material outside of Iced Earth has far more scope than being a cut price Barlow. Definitely voting Stu Block.

Phil Collins is the only singer here that I'd care to listen to. Jeff Buckley is talented, but his tone doesn't do it for me.

Considering our rhythm section is probably going to be Rush, Phil Collins isn’t a bad choice from the supergroup perspective.

So if we’re voting based on who fits our hypothetical band the best, Stu Block is not a good choice.

The prospect of Rush being our “best band ever” is funny and actually not all that surprising. As far as I can remember, they are the one non-Maiden band that is consistently able to get large amounts of participants in survivors/discography threads. It also speaks to their strengths as individuals musicians as well as a full band.

This one has gone on for so long that I can’t even remember who has won what already...

We only have vocals and drums left, right?

My hope is for: Dio + Iommi + Geddy and Neil = prog/doom super group

Like Buckley's work a lot, he's a great singer and the one I prefer from the lot. I never liked Messiah and I'm a Candlemass fan but still a decent vocalist. Not an Iced Earth fan but that Stu Block guy is really beyond capable and a powerhouse technically speaking... really excels in his genre so he gets my vote.

P.S. : The only thing I'll say about that other guy is that his voice is not bad by any means (far from it) but IMO he should've been tied to the drum kit away from any singing device.
