Actually, this shows me that the blatant underrating of this album is not as bad on this forum as I thought. Also, the fact that Balls to Picasso got promoted is a joke. There really is a severe bias towards Bruce albums.
I am surprised about something else.
@Mckindog: would you please explain a bit more why you:
- eliminated Volume 4? It had 6 votes.
- promoted Balls to Picasso? It had 6 votes.
- did nothing with Nostradamus and Watershed? They had 6 votes.
I still don't get what you mean. Sorry.Fifty percent usually gets you eliminated so far in this game.
If you look back at where I draw the cutoff line in most rounds it's at about 50 per cent of the votes — if half the voters tick an album it's usually gone, less than half, it usually sticks around.I still don't get what you mean. Sorry.
And this time it went different for every album with about 50 percent of the votes. It indeed happened in round 6 as well (results in round 7). A rare event. Thanks for explaining. If you look back at where I draw the cutoff line in most rounds it's at about 50 per cent of the votes — if half the voters tick an album it's usually gone, less than half, it usually sticks around.
I'm probably the only person here who thinks Speak English Or Die should totally be in this game...
This. GR wipes the floor with Watershed (and every Opeth album for that matter) and Angel of Retribution is one of the best Priest albums, where Nos is one of the worst.I am surprised Nostradamus and Watershed outlasted Angel of Retribution and Ghost Reveries.
Van Halen and Rumors are two of the best albums, the people voting for them are crazy. Kings is a bit overrated, Hemispheres is much better.Re the newly added era:
Should Survive: Van Halen and Rumours
Will Survive: Priests and Kings (defensible, but still wrong)
Van Halen and Rumors are two of the best albums, the people voting for them are crazy.
The only criticism of the album is that they relegated the best Nicks track, "Silver Springs," to a b-side -- it is the angriest song from that recording session, and has since become a beloved classic in its own right. Even 20 years later, when performing the song in concert, the sexual tension was still crackling (watch Stevie and Lindsay starting around 2:16 through the end, and pay attention to the lyrics -- good Lord):
