Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

I think it's possible - the HSH one being from 2017, but maybe it's had the HSH pickguard from the Black HSH Strat we've seen in recent years swapped into the white body.. The Zebra pickups..

Orr it could be another new one..
Nope. It was a backup for the black one during LOTB. Both had HSH configurations. I guess they changed it after TBOS.

Found these two pictures on instagram today, Adrian and Dave’s guitar boats from current tour, some strange guitars can be seen here…

Dave has some guitars that are never used on stage: a yellow telecaster, black and cream Stratocasters (maybe same from RIR 2001) and a white strat which looks like an HSH guitar, the only two used are the Andy Hicks strat and the California ones, also, the SG seem to be sent back to Hawaii and the Henrik Danhage Charvel is not on the boat anymore.

I also can see that Adrian still has the black LP’s and even the V, also, the guitar between the acoustic PRS and one of the LP’s is the backstage ebony neck/white Jackson? Or another one?
Dave with another odd guitar for him. I wonder if he will use it for 1 song live like the SG or it will be like the Tele last year (or was it 2022) with no use. I doubt it. Maybe he just likes to buy guitars. I don't think he has used the 2nd white Strat live (4th from left to right). For warming up? Why not.

Here's another look of Adrian's guitars:

Tele likely won't be used because of the single coil hum and being semi-hollow which could result in feedback issues.

2nd white strat is the birthday Strat (DM1956), which hasn't seen the stage since being converted to HSH from hot rails.

Fun fact, the black Floyd Rose Classic Strat was briefly converted to HSH in 2013. Kossoff specs.

Adrian's guitars this year from L to R:

-2016 Jackson Custom Shop Green Sunburst AS model (main guitar since LA show)
- Jackson Green Sunburst AS production model (main guitar until LA show)
- Jackson Custom Shop "The Hoolingan"
- Jackson white/black pickguard AS model prototype #1 SN 8431, more yellowish white than they went with in the end. H intentionally broke the original neck on this guitar during the 2018 Freiburg show.
- Jackson white/black pickguard AS model prototype #2 (forgot the serial, it's in here somewhere), this guitar has a chipped pickguard and is the sister guitar to the stolen Jackson from 2008
- 2017-ish Black Les Paul Standard
- Black Les Paul Custom
- Jackson white/white pickguard AS production model
- PRS angelus Acoustic
- White Gibson Flying V

I think it's worth noting that before LA show there was likel another production green AS Jackson in there as a backup, but it was replaced with the 2016 custom shop one, which likely stayed at Adrian's in Malibu for the Asia/Oceania leg.

As the 2024 tour comes to a close soon - what guitars (realistically) would you like to see in 2025 for the RFYL tour?

Being a big ol' Adrian Smith fan first and foremost, my picks are:
- Gold Top (the Holy Grail)
- Jackson Destroyer Replica - or the Ibanez he used in 2014?
- Maybe a new colour of the Jackson Signature San Dimas? Been 8+ years since the last new colour (if you don't count the 2 Minutes 'Hooligan')
- Ultra-Maybe - Does H still have any of his Lado Earth models in storage somewhere? One can dream!

I'm sure we'll see a bunch of the green quilted and white Jacksons, perhaps an LP Custom or a V, but some other options would be cool. I wonder what other rare/possibly unseen guitars he might have stashed away that could come out for a show?

Davey:
- Would be stoked to see a Kossof replica (highly doubt the OG makes it out)
- Maybe another LP or that black V Davey used a few years ago

Janick
- 99% sure it'll be all the Strats (& Sandberg) as usual, maybe just another one we haven't seen in a while?

Steve:
- BLUE SPARKLE BASS for even one song (dreamin?)

What do you reckon?

The only guitar realistically that could return out of those is the goldtop. But I doubt it as H likely won't tour with both of his favourite 2 guitars (2016 green AS Jackson custom shop being the other). Especially since he didn't take the favourite Jackson to Asia/Oceania this year.

Dave loves the Hicks Strat and plays it as much as possible. Normal humbuckers sound completely different than Hot Rails, so I think there is no chance there. If he will go back to normal humbuckers for some songs, he'll likely bring the black large headstock Strat back. If he uses more than 2 guitars per show, that will be a surprise.

Janick tours with all of his touring Strats currently and of anything, he will have less guitars next year since there will be no drop D.

West Ham bass is the blue sparkle bass.

Now, what I would like to see is H bringing the Goldtop, Dave the Kossoff Strat and Janick the 64/65 Strat for a few songs. But not gonna happen.

I think they will use the same guitars as for the current tour. Only Adrian has a chance to bring something new or bring back an old guitar.

I personally would like to see:

Adrian - the red Ibanez/Destroyer, the gold Jackson, white V, Goldtop
Dave - Les Paul I guess and more often the classic cream and black Strats; the red Jackson would be nice too
Steve - the blue sparkle bass for one song or the chess bass which is one of my favorites

Blue bass IS the West Ham bass. The original Destroyer is unplayable.

Cream and black Strats are currently on tour but not used. The cream one is the secondary backup.

I know It won't happen anyway, but... I would like to see the Les Paul Goldtop, the Classic Floyd Rose Sunburst Stratocaster and as for Davey... The Cream ESP and the Red Wine Jackson. And also, the Cream Stratocaster with the pearl pickguard.

As for Steve... The checked Fender... And why not, the Lado Unicorn or the Ibanez Roadstar. :D

Lado Unicorn is one of the ugliest basses ever IMO.

Would be cool to have the Roadstar on some od the Piece Of Mind songs as they were recorded with it.

Davey : Black HSH custom shop with the 70s style headstock (2015)
Adrian : Jackson 1986, but I'm probably dreaming.
Janick : there will be no change, i think

Do we know which guitar The Three Amigos recorded each studio album with?

Did Adrian record in the studio with the white V? He had the guitar since the PM days and now I wonder why he didn't use it live with Bruce.
as-pm97.jpg
Or the Jackson Soloist with the sticker or the ML. The sunburst strat was probably used for BNW?

Yes that's the one, i love it! Maybe for the first albums he should use real humbuckers in HSH configuration, the tone would be more identical

Yes I know, have we seen her since TFF tour? on videos or others?
Nah. He went back to #8432 prototype afterward and then during TBOS got the CS green sunburst AS Jackson.

The 1986 Jackson is the Jackson on En Vivo.
I'm still so fucking confused on why he had to go and mutilate that guitar just so he could have another HSS Jackson with the same pickups, except the output jack's in a different position and now there's a mismatching extra control knob. Why not just leave it be as it was?
