Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Adrian's Powerslave Roadstar was a blue sunburst one with 1 pickup.

Dave's Hear 'n' Aid roadstar is likely loaned, but it's impossible to know. Ibanez was fishing for artists at that time and was giving away guitars like crazy trying to get endorsements before they hit it big with Steve Vai and the Jem.
Yup, I know. It's this one here:

Not sure if this is the real cream/vintage White Stratocaster Adrian used to play in the Rock in Rio gig.
Lol. With the foil is still on the pickguard? Hell no.
And the sticker on the back in perfect condition. On a guitar that's at least 25 years old.
In any case, the seller (some Japanese guitar shop) says it is a modified Strat aiming at reproducing Adrian's.

PS: and also this. Adrian's Strat had white pickups, this one has white single coils but cream hum at the bridge. See here at 2:52-ish.

I think the cream one(s?) had a Fender DH-1 Humbucker in the bridge, whilst the Sunburst one had a PAF Pro.
The cream one had a Fender DH-1.

Sunburst #2 also had a Fender DH-1 (2 screws on the upper side). Sunburst #1 originally had a Paf Pro, but was swapped for another DiMarzio humbucker with screw polepieces around the time of Brave New World.

Hi guys,

matic22 i've a question...how make the difference between sunburst #1 and #2? #1 has a lighter color on the edges it's ok but I can't see the differences on the live videos...thanks :)

#2 has wider black around the edges. But the main difference is the upper screws of the bridge pickup. #1 has 1 and #2 has 2.

I'm trying to find the picture of both of them in H's guitar boat, but that picture is sucessfully evading me so far. On that picture also #2 has the peace sign on it's contour cut that has been removed since.

That’s cool.

I swear by those Dunlop Celluloid picks myself. They’re even better than Fender’s 351 picks somehow
Also interesting to see that Janick uses the Echoplex preamp. I wonder if he has had a new effects rack unit built or whether he is rocking a pedalboard/GCX unit.

I think he had a new rack built before TFP. But in there there are still mostly old components (JMP's, JFX's, old Mesa, the jurassic Cornish switching system etc...). Also there is secondary rack with Kempers in case if everything else fails.

Thanks for the info! thought I spied a Kemper in a backstage photo last year, but I can’t remember where I saw it. They are incredible. I love how good modelling gear has got in the last 10 years.

I read a comment from Adrian on his instagram (he was replying to someone - I can't find the post sorry!) this this is the guitar he recorded Two Minutes to Midnight on, so that's cool!
The whole Powerslave record, in fact.

Piece Of Mind was the Melody Maker with humbuckers, while SIT and SSOASS were the Jackson Super Strat. TNOTB was a combination of the LP Goldtop and the Destroyer, but mainly the later.

Is this the photo you're meaning? Low quality sorry
