Accept

Six days ago, they played at a rock hard festival, the youtube upload from the gig is already one of the most viewed Accept concerts on youtube. Unbelievable! I have to say that I was hesitant about the new lineup, but I think it's a bit cool that they choose to have an acdc structure live (rhytm guitarist, bassist and drummer at the back), Philip Shouse and Wolf both as prominent guitarists up front! Cool to see that Shouse gets to play some solos, guitarists usually do not get that space when Wolf is on stage. Martin Motnik (the new bass player) writes a lot of the music on the latest album. That's quite interesting!

Accept finally announced their US tour to promote Too Mean to Die. Normally I would see Houston show (where I live) but is on same night as Sabaton/Epica show. That means I will see drive 4 hours to Ft Worth show the next night. Just waiting on info about when tix go on sale.

Accept started working on their next album. Let's hope it will be better than the latest one. I think playing live with the new lineup will help them and with 3 guitarists they can experiment with some longer stuff.

My opinion about 'Too Mean To Die' is that it's a very nice album. OK, it's not 'The Rise Of Chaos' nor 'Blood Of The Nations', but it's rock a lot. :)

My whole opinion about it is in my review (in french) :

Accept with a new vocalist for one gig - Jason McMaster (from Dangerous Toys).

Mark Tornillo sings ''Wrathchild'' with The Iron Maidens. They were also invited for Accept's ''I'm A Rebel''. His vocals suit the song as his voice is more raspy like Paul's.

Don't you find it strange that of all acts a cover band opens for Accept? In my opinion -not only mine- this is also one of the things that happen because of Wolf Hoffman's horrible midlife crisis, just any band with as many young women as possible, you know. Too bad, there are so many originals waiting for a chance.

I was surprised when I found out about their opener. It's not a common thing in metal and it's strange.

Wolf Hoffmann’s crisis is more likely an OAP one, just like Bruce’s that @srfc mentioned at some point back in 2019.

Naughty Wolf, taking his bratwurst out with someone much younger than him (what happens to some blokes at 60?? Is it discovering Viagra??).

No wonder Gaby Hoffmann is no longer managing the band!

I would rather see and listen to the Iron Maidens than The Raven Age. Sorry, but SOMEONE had to say it.

But that does not seem enough. I took a picture with him before a show. Please don't misunderstand, he did not molest anyone (at least not I know of), but his way of talking and behaving struck me as horny.

He was getting up to the limit…

Sadly too many rock musicians feel female fans who approach them are just another piece of meat (to quote another German band).

Peter Baltes talking about the reasons why he left Accept, I mean the Wolf Hoffmann band.
