And they come on all the time during world cup ad breaks. They really grate on the nerves! lol His computerised, disembodied head makes me think of the Gamesmaster, or Holly from Red Dwarf! :P

@Dr. Eddies Wingman - Yeah, I know what you mean. And I can't believe the tournament is half over already. the first two weeks have flown by so fast! It's a shame it only comes round once every four years, but I guess that's part of what makes it such a special competition. :)
 
It turns out that the bust-up in the Ghana team was about money. I'm not entirely sure what all the fuss is about. Playing for your country is a privilege not a chore, right?
 
Well, if you come from a poor country (or Scotland :p) I guess you'll take money issues quite seriously. And if they have a history of not getting money they've been promised ...

I read that some guy in the administration of the Nigerian team had to go back to Nigeria to retrieve cash to pay the players' bonuses after advancing from the group. They have threatened to not play the 1/8 final if they don't get their bonus up front ...

Yep! Chile vs Brazil should be quite a tussle, and hopefully Chile can pull off the win. With Suarez, I'd have given Uruguay a great chance of advancing to the next round, without Suarez, I'd say that Colombia are favourites to win that encounter, especially with how impressive they were during the group stages. Hopefully Uruguay can make a game of it though, and the turmoil caused by the Suarez saga doesn't affect them negatively too much.

I think that was Ghana, not Nigeria.

Are you guys aware that we are merely an extension of the English language European media that has targeted the Uruguay national side to destroy them from the ability to compete?
