18th Studio Album discussion

There's a lot of truth in this, never seen it expressed like that.
I agree, it is why he belongs in Maiden as the frontman, he was born for this role.
When he runs alone with his own ideas, he becomes overenthusiastic but the outcomes sometimes come across as you say it - unfinished.

Yes, if you can get very enthusiastic, that's both an advantage and a disadvantage. On the one hand, it gives you energy, but on the other, it can also happen that you believe a bit too early that you have created a masterpiece.

Surprising things for this band left in the can
A tour with all rare songs
A tour with only songs since reunion
A new album
Play a whole classic album maybe seventh son but i dont see the point
And a new album.

Maybe they'll make one last album and go on a farewell tour, with a 'one song per album' theme. That would be cool. Also they should get Blaze with them to sing the 2 songs from X-Factor and Virtual...a man can only dream...
I would also like Blaze to be an opener band, it's something they should do, if he accepts. Guest musicians, Steve said it's something they could do, he can't say now. If only this tour's theme was for all eras. But it would kind of atypical for Maiden, but not unlikely. Playing Blaze era songs during a hypothetical Part 2 of the new tour would be something. Replacing his songs with live versions for the comp. albums was logical given the current lineup.

He also said they won't do a farewell tour, but let's see. Because of the number of classics, I'm really skeptical about the ''one song per album'' tour, but it's a very cool idea. I've always liked it. Come to think of it, it could work for a 3rd leg of RFYL tour! Combining new album with another theme, I guess too.

Well, it's not everything up to the vocalist, right. With his solo music, he writes and creates what interests him the most, with the chosen style and length of the songs. He can like and view them how he wants, ofc. He needs to be creative and enthusiastic, considering his career.

Yep:

- tour with deep cuts (Nicko and Dave have discussed this in the past, iirc).
- tour with 90's songs.
- tour around the Reunion albums (if we don't count the 2010 tour).

New album tour won't be a surprise. They can definitely do only Reunion songs, if they want. Deep cuts tour or only epics tour won't happen. Playing a whole classic album too, they had many chances for that (ex. 2012 tour).

90s i think is this tour. If you want to see x factor and virtual xi songs blaze is performing this songs. I went to last tour....and the dont sound even close to maiden.

Deep cuts and epics COULD BE 2025 tour. I dont see them playing a classic setlist.

I noticed when watching them live in 2010 that when they do several reunion songs in a row, the repeated slow intros become energy drainers. Some slow intros are great in a 2 hour show. But too many and the momentum gets squandered even if all the songs are good.

I mostly agree with this, although I am iffy on whether Nicko could actually pull off studio recording. It seems like there's a lot of stuff he is physically unable to do, even with unlimited takes/studio magic. I also interpreted Bruce's comments as them maybe intending on eventually going into the studio (with Nicko), but I'm skeptical that this will work out.

Also lots of possibilities including Nicko helping come up with drum parts for Simon to play, Nicko playing on 9/10 songs, or just a couple songs, etc.

But could that be something that the band really wants? Some songs with Nicko on the album and others with Simon and then the big discussion around the new album will be the comparison. I would find that rather unfortunate.
