    The Worst of the Beast

Seens as The Who's version is great and Maiden's is shite, and Roll Over Vic Vella is just plain awful i thought they did belong if you were to include B sides. A lot maiden's b-sides are covers and are quite good, but those two just stank in my book.

Kerrang Magazine Iron Maiden Tribute CD

I've been listening to this CD a good bit over the past week or two and overall i think it's a good CD. I didn't like the Machine Head and Metallica tracks on first listen but i have to say they have grown on me and are quite good. The "re-worked" covers of Run To The Hills, CSIT and BNW are...

    Twickenham gig, my review

This was my sixth time seeing Maiden live and I have to say it was the best show i've seen them do so far. Set list was great, thought i'd never hear the likes of those songs in my lifetime.

Kerrang Magazine Iron Maiden Tribute CD

Here's Machine Head murdering Hallowed Be Thy Name, maybe they should stick to covering Message in a Bottle  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bAH2bt2 ... h_response The intro piece is definitely different alright and I'd agree with you about the 1st solo as well. I've heard Opeth do a...

    Death on the Road DVD

Yeah i think the DVD is well worth buying, the concert disc is very good and the bonus features are well worth a look too.

Kerrang Magazine Iron Maiden Tribute CD

Cd has nice artwork too. The track line up is quite good alright, pity about some of the bands doing the covers though, Fightstar doing Fear of The Dark for one  ::) Still the tracks by Dream Theater, Metallica, A7x and Machine Head will convince me to buy the magazine that week.

    Wheres the 80-81 tunes?

There was no Wrathchild on the AMOLAD tour, miracle of miracles  Every other show i've been to it's been played though.

Maiden supported by Avenged Sevenfold – New Feature & Thrash Hits

They're decent enough to listen to on CD but i saw them as special guests to Metallica back in 2006 and they were god awful live. Hopefully they will have improved for the twickenham show next month that i'm travelling to.

when have Maiden been at their biggest??

In the USA it's 500,000 copies sold for a gold record for an album, if you get up to 1,000,000 sales it then goes platinum. It's a different amount for each country and whether the record is an album or a single as well, this link has a good table showing the different values for each type of...

Best Album to work out to

I voted for SIT too, i used to do cross country running, the 1500m and the 3000m when i was in school so the Loneliness of the Long Distance runner always rang a bell with me

    I'm Starting from Powerslave

When a band sets such high standards, and more often than not meets them, expectations are bound to be high  :) Four of the eight tracks on Powerslave (Aces High, Two Minutes, Powerslave and Rime) are some of the band's best, Losfer Words is a catchy song too but i've never taken to the other...

    Judas Priest vs Iron Maiden

Two of my all time favourite albums released in the one year, 1988 was indeed an outstanding year for metal releases alright. In fact the whole period from 1980 - 1988 had some immense metal releases, some of the lists posted previously will attest to this. Would be in full agreement with this...
