Yes! Rush coming to Vancouver on July 26. It's a Friday and I am so there.
Haven't seen them in person since the Presto tour.
Wife just reminded me its the start of our holidays too, and she wants to come with me and turn it into a bit of a getaway.
(Of my bands, Rush is one of the few she likes.)
Going to be fun!

Don't get it. Rush is a Canadian group what's so special about coming to Vancouver or Halifax ??

Its only special for me.
I really wanted to go to the Time Machine tour, but I had a conflict and couldn't make it.
And then there was no Vancouver date on the original Clockwork tour, so I was worried I was going to miss out again.
As I said earlier I haven't seen them for 20 years and they are among my favourites.

I'm seriously considering sleeping for just a couple of hours today and going to school almost sleepless. For what reason ? I have no idea.

I wikied Vancouver to see how's your place, then more about Canada and my mind started to travel. Nice places there! Concerts with life-partners is one of the best things one can do with them. My top favourite though is car travelling. Road, music & discussion, I really enjoy that.

Sometimes I feel young on this forum. And I didn't choose a gender-neutral nickname cos it didn't even occur to me to. Also, Natalie is actually my name. And I like my name. Or maybe I'm just not creative. Also not sure why I'm speaking in fragments. Two more days and its the weekend. Phew.

As I'm rubbing my hand after banging it on the wall to signal my neighbours to turn down the volume of their fuck noise, I contemplate on how strange our species is. The one moment, our voices may drift off in sirenic spheres, and the next they resemble a gorilla in attitude (case in point). The same mind may be investigating the mysteries of the universe the one day, and devise methods to unleash terror and destruction upon us all the next. The same person may have simultaneously earned our love and appreciation, and our hate and contempt.

Then again, I may have simply had an odd day.

That may be more than I'm equipped to think about today. However, I do agree with you. Sounds like you are saying there is a fine line between beauty and ugly, art and horror. ..or maybe there isn't a line at all, that we are all a mish-mash of all of that, and on occasion show each of those aspects. From the depths of depravity to the blinding light of genius. Apogee and perigee.

Dammit, you made me think :)

I think those thoughts every day, Perun. Maybe not those exact thoughts but every day I spend a moment contemplating what a strange species we are.

We're split personality monsters!!

And I now have a very sore thumb after slicing through my thumbnail while dicing chicken. I can't believe the knife was sharp enough to go through the nail

We got this great new kitchen knife. I got all excited and started playing around with it. But it slipped through my fingers and I accidentally threw it at my wife!
Missed, luckily, but try explaining your way out of that one.

^ That'll stand up in court!
I once managed to launch a knife blade across my shoulder, just missing my ear. I was trying to chop the head off a fish, and the blade sheared off, bounced off the chopping board and went over my shoulder. I was simultaneously horrified, relieved and amazed

Sounds like a similar incident with my husband and I but we were out to eat at a restaurant. He was playing around with the butter knife (lucky it was that type of knife) and he ended up flinging it across the table at me. I didn't get hit or anything. We just laughed about it after.
