Vitrtual XI B - I quite like The Educated Fool but find the other three quite un-memorable...sorry

I think that album has probably aged the worst of the "classic" Maiden albums, that is my reasoning. I really liked it when it came out, but my opinion of it has slowly slid ever since. Most other Maiden albums have been the opposite (like them as much or more now than when they came out).

Yep. Number of the Beast was the first Maiden studio album I heard back in 85 and the A side never resonated with me. Maybe it was because the "hits" were aon side B, but in all honesty I find The Prisoner quite dull and was non-plussed when Children of the Damned was the additional NOTB song played on the A Mater of the Beast tour. Invaders or Gangland would have been more special in my opnion than COTD. Of course, Adrian's double headed axe was tres cool...
