Funny. However if you listen to isolated guitar tracks that wee joke falls a bit flat. There's nothing sloppy about Janick's studio work.

Listen to Adrian's isolated track from Rock in Rio. That's sloppy, and not just by Adrian's standards.

They are all a bit sloppy. One thing that really stuck out to me about Dream Theater covering the NOTB album was how clean the parts sounded, especially the guitars. It was almost too precise.

Yeah, I don't think you can accuse the Maiden guitarists of being too precise with their instruments. There's definitely a lot of playing by feel and being somewhat imprecise since it doesn't matter as much in a live setting and often even adds to the song. Studio playing is a whole different matter, and unsurprisingly the three amigos are all more than decently precise there.
