What album did Bruce sound the best on?

Powerslave? are you guys insane? Aces High alone is enough to make it his WORST performance. I cannot stand his shrieking on that album.

Bruce's best vocal performance prior to the reunion has to be on Piece of Mind, but his singing is better now that he is older and a better singer. I like the deeper, more controlled/emotive style of the reunion albums, than the famed "air raid" siren of the 80's

*Escorts Onhell to Eddie's room from the Piece of Mind artwork where DJ Eddie himself will play the following fragment endlessly; (7:45-9:00)*

I'll take it, even though I am not joking. I feel his singing on those "classic" albums is very helter skelter, it is either brilliant (like the segment Foro posted) or just... utter screaming like in Aces High. I like his singing on the reunion albums much better.

Well, well, Taker, I'm getting curious about the next reason to dislike Powerslave  ;)
The vocals are certainly a new one, aren't they? Don't remember that one of your posts about the album was ever about the vocals (or other sound or performance in general).

Powerslave is OK, but you gotta admit he struggled a little. Especially on tour!

Piece Of Mind is the best, no doubt about it. But losing the power of such great voice in a year is quite unexpected. Don't you think?

He struggled a little towards the end of the World Slavery Tour, who wouldn't? But he sounds magnificent for long periods of that tour too. Look at RIR 1985, it's amazing.

OK, I'll check it out. I was heavily biased on his Live After Death performance.

The one thing I will say about LAD particularly the Friday night performance which they used for the vhs (now dvd) Bruce isn't hitting all the big notes but the level of intensity he sings with is palpable. I mean Hallowed Be Thy Name that night was astounding even though it wasn't note perfect.

Here's the entire RIR. This is how you blow Queen away ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qfh4SUC_90

My favorite overall Bruce performance is on Seventh Son.  It has a bit of everything really - air raid siren screams, full on operatic bits, the gravely tone, and some amazing delivery.

I do slightly prefer his newer more restrained style, but I feel that the less than stellar vocal production on all post BNW albums take what could have been astonishing vocal tracks and render them merely very good.

POM for me.  BNW is also great.  Oh hell, he has almost always sounded great recorded, but I would say that he sounds better live NOW than ever before.

Wow, now that's something excellent there. :edmetal:

Revelations is the best, again, no doubt about it, but, why was he bleeding?

Also, the North American period is where he was starting to lose the grip.

He ran into H's headstock cutting his eye.

It didn't seem it bothered him, though.

Imagine being Queen and having to follow that. I'm sure they did fine but frack me, Maiden were up for it that night :)

And when do you think they aren't up to give their best? ;)
