Powerslave and Brave New World!

Bruce's best vocal performance prior to the reunion has to be on Piece of Mind, but his singing is better now that he is older and a better singer. I like the deeper, more controlled/emotive style of the reunion albums, than the famed "air raid" siren of the 80's

Black Thunder said:Powerslave is OK, but you gotta admit he struggled a little. Especially on tour!
Piece Of Mind is the best, no doubt about it. But losing the power of such great voice in a year is quite unexpected. Don't you think?
snake plissken said:He struggled a little towards the end of the World Slavery Tour, who wouldn't? But he sounds magnificent for long periods of that tour too. Look at RIR 1985, it's amazing.
Black Thunder said:OK, I'll check it out. I was heavily biased on his Live After Death performance.
snake plissken said:The one thing I will say about LAD particularly the Friday night performance which they used for the vhs (now dvd) Bruce isn't hitting all the big notes but the level of intensity he sings with is palpable. I mean Hallowed Be Thy Name that night was astounding even though it wasn't note perfect.
Here's the entire RIR. This is how you blow Queen away http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qfh4SUC_90

snake plissken said:Imagine being Queen and having to follow that. I'm sure they did fine but frack me, Maiden were up for it that night
Sheer professionalism.Black Thunder said:It didn't seem it bothered him, though.
