This is an Iron Maiden forum and, though off-topic discussions should be encouraged, I do not think that there is anything positive coming from these threads. No one is learning, no one is being graceful - we're all just mad and feeling attacked.

The only outcome of these threads existing is that people are leaving the forum (including moderators). This result is the exact opposite goal of a forum: to bring people together to engage in discourse.

I agree with it.

I've been on forums of all types, been a mod on one for years, since forums have been a thing. and they all tend to go the same way over time, fixation with the negative toxic issues drive sound people off over time.

Re: @Azas point about silencing political threads, it's not silencing anyones opinions, it's when people have made their point but can't stop making it again, and again, and again so that nothing else ever get's discussed.

Nothing too cool had happened since the nationally televised buck breaking of that weird european dude, but hearing Trump actually talk about those white farmers they’ve been killing over there was one of those moments again. Obviously, making liberals upset was goal numero uno with getting out to vote, but with the ukraine guy buck breaking and now this, I mean I knew I voted for some shenanigans but even I’m surprised with how much he’s getting away with.

He’s been pushing pretty hard on Israel with the tariffs and the whole genocide thing. I hear they’re blowing kids to smithereens over there. I mean it’s awful. If he makes em too mad though I’m afraid they’re gonna do something to him for real and it won’t be a weird transgender false flag type deal like that summer thing was. If I was his advisor I’d tell him to reel it in a bit for his own safety. Me personally, well I guess I shouldn’t actually type out my feelings on israel on a forum I don’t want to get banned from.
