Wow, great cover! Intro is almost as chilling as the original. Well done!  :ok:

A quick scan through a few...ahem..."art" sites inspired me to record this next classic from the Di'Anno era...not an album track this time, though...of course, it's...

'Women In Uniform'!!!

Including the fade. Good job on this one as with most of the DiAnno stuff (as this suits your vocals better) - nice backing vocals as well.

As for Educated Fool, again nicely done and this, like almost all of the X Factor, does sound really good done acoustically.

Woo! Love it! You know, I prefer it to the original! Nice backing vocals. Well done!

Re: Thingfish's Acoustic Maiden Covers (new track added : 28/02/07)

Thanks again, chaps. I had fun doing this song and did it in one evening :D As far as I can recall this is the only song Maiden have done which fades out, apart from Stranger In A Strange Land. I've certainly not done one like that yet, so it was interesting to have to play on loudly as the original track was growing silent so I could mimic the fade properly. The backing vocals are fun too, although they say 'Women In Uniform' too often!!

Nice job on this one - as usual. :ok:

Re: Thingfish's Acoustic Maiden Covers (new track added : 08/03/07)

I was wondering where you were, albie :) It seems interest in my tracks is waning somewhat...  :S

Re: Thingfish's Acoustic Maiden Covers (new track added : 08/03/07)

Keep 'em coming though - people are still listening and last.fm has generated some new fans as well.

Re: Thingfish's Acoustic Maiden Covers (new track added : 08/03/07)

Yeah! Them keep them coming! Nice job on The Pilgrim.  :ok:

Re: Thingfish's Acoustic Maiden Covers (new track added : 08/03/07)

Thankyou, guys :) I will indeed keep them coming, starting right now!

It's time for another superbly emotional Blaze-era classic. I'd love to hear Maiden play this one again one day...

'The Aftermath'!

Re: Thingfish's Acoustic Maiden Covers (new track added : 12/03/07)

I'm glad to see the acoustics have an emotional effect on me, just like the original.  This is one of my favourites.  I like the intro and the solo and this chorus is my favourite (both original and yours):

Once a ploughman hitched his team here he sowed his little dream
Now bodies arms and legs are strewn where mustard gas and barb wire bloom
Each moment's like a year I've nothing left inside for tears
Comrades dead or dying lie I'm left alone asking why

:ok:
