The next Supergenius track is the first song we wrote together: "Shadow On The Wind".
Time and wonder, mystically inclined
Growing thunder, magically defined
Going under, caught up and entwined
Walking on the side of the road
Feel it coming, distant memories
Feel like running, dire epiphanies
Hear the drumming, hint of melodies
Standing on the edge of the world
I wanna fly like a bird on the run
Taking cover from the storm bearing down
I wanna fly like a shot from a gun
Tearing up the sky, ripping the ground
Dark and brooding, shadow on the wind
Always moving, ever on the mend
Never choosing, always in suspense
Screaming at the sun in the sky
Head is shaking, heart is on a wheel
Anger breaking, fearing what is real
Bracing, making my will as hard as steel
Sweating as the minutes tick by
I wanna fly like a bird on the run
Taking cover from the storm bearing down
I wanna fly like a shot from a gun
Tearing up the sky, ripping the ground
I can feel the air change
As the time of indecision slowly drips away
Can't ya see it ain't so strange
When the pages are torn out and fear is stripped away
Danger falling, pouring like a flood
Stranger calling, hiding in my blood
Fighting, brawling deep down in the mud
Raging like a tide on the rise
Storm releasing, time in disarray
Lightning feasting on the aging day
Subtle feeling, carry me away
Burning like the fire in my eyes
I wanna fly like a bird on the run
Taking cover from the storm bearing down
I wanna fly like a shot from a gun
Tearing up the sky, ripping the ground
I have been playing the following song for a while with the cover band from my work, and last year we did a version that I like to share with you. It was not performed at a party at work but we had a chance to play on a small festival. We played about 8 or 9 songs and this is the last one. Play on highest quality and volume. Rock it!
The bass is certainly the best instrument on that version SMX! I like the groove in your version a lot, but hear some mistakes in the other instruments. Still a fun and spontaneous sounding version!
Another Supergenius song, this time quoting Kiss and Maiden.
Yeah, honey.
Losing my mind
Like I kinda forget where to go
When I see you there on the floor
I can feel my brain overload
Crossing the line
Like a hunter moves in the night
I can see you under the light
Can you feel me coming alive
YEEEAAHH!
Losing my mind
When I feel the heat of your skin
I can see your hunger kick in
Baby are you ready to sin
Over the line
Like a pack of dogs in the street
Only thing we feel is the beat
Baby hear my words and take heed
YEEEAAHH!
Losing my mind
Got you deep inside of my soul
Got me goin' out of control
Feel a fever takin' a hold
Crossing the line
Now we're far beyond where I can see
Moving faster than infinity
Charlotte babe you're comin' with me!
YEEEAAHH!
One more ... again ... we're done.
Sorry, botched the lyrics on the first half of the third verse.
Decided to do something jazzy for this week. The prompt was to write something using a deceptive cadence (V to vi) so I used a ii-V-I progression replacing the I with a vi.
@Saapanael - I really like that piece. Probably the most straight-up Satch-sounding thing you've done. It reminds me of one of his quiet, moody pieces, but I can't remember which one...
@Mosh - really impressive tune. Honestly, I can't really tell what's happening half of the time, but it's super chill and cool.

Didn't have a lot of time to write out a complete song so I decided to use this week as an exercise in improv and recording guitar. Lately I've been working on trying to use more interesting scales/modes than the typical pentatonic stuff over simple chord progressions, so this week's prompt (the I - IV progression) was a perfect opportunity to work on that. Wish I could've had more time to work on this but it was a fun little moment of guitar wankery.
Another from Supergenius, and a song with origins on this forum. The original posts sadly seem to be gone.
Back when the tracklist to AMOLAD was first announced, someone asked "does Iron Maiden come up with the song titles before they write the songs?" Real World replied "Of course not. No one wakes up and says 'today I'm going to write a song called "This Is My Fish".'" I took that as a challenge, and wrote "This Is My Fish".
Because of several reasons our band HeadSmoke decided to stop (a bit abruptly). I am glad we still did one of the three remaining gigs. Here one song, recorded by two cameras. Play in high quality, on 10!
This song took a little longer than expected. It's my first one where I use "wah" on the lead guitar. The lead is partly improvised so the video doesn't always have the same hand movements as the recording. Also one of my longest songs thus far.
