The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

I'm so ready for February 2016 to come, I really hope they pull some deep cuts as well as do most if not all of the new album like AMOLAD. Would love to hear some Somewhere in Time stuff, No prayer for the dying or fear of the dark stuff.
Would really love to hear this classic that vanished along with everything else on the album.

I think they do UK leg (arenas) and 20 + shows in North America (USA/Can) maybe few festival shows in Europe in 2017.
In 2016 Maiden are going to play in 35 countries, 6 continents and 65 - 67 shows, I suppose next step will be exteding tour with another 35 - 37 gigs in North America & EU (Incl. UK). The time'll tell...

I hope they do Atlanta again. I will drive up for any show in the southeast region as I'm in Florida. I'm tickled to death they are opening the tour in Sunrise East of Ft Lauderdale. Just 2 hours from me. First Maiden tour where I'll be at the opener. They usually try many new songs and deep cuts then to get a feel. I'm beyond excited. I'll bring a camera but won't spoil for anyone on here

Any other UK/European fans (who don't fancy a festival) getting a bit p***ed off at this game of stick or twist?! Has any other tour been announced bit-by-bit like this one?
Yep its really annoying me now. They must have a good idea where they are playing they could let us know and just say that some dates subject to change. At least we would have a better idea. DL has never been an option for me. Saw them in Belgrade in 2014 and in 2013 we went Gdansk and then Prague as that date and others were announced after we booked but I don't remember them being as bad as this drip feeding of dates. Im not mad about going to Prague again but my mates are desperate to book something now so if they don't announce in next few days will have to go there. Wanted Kaunas or Wroclaw but not easy to get to. Hoping for Greece Spain Latvia or something...

I have a question. I know it's early but, will we be making an periscope thread for sending links to the livestreams of concerts? I think there are a lot of fans on this forum who live worldwide and would like to see the first concerts and periscope gives us that opportunity (if somebody is kind enough to stream, in the US there is a streamer at almost every show). I am just throwing an idea to the table that we could make a pinned general periscope thread (with spoiler alert in the title so the ones who dont't want to be spoiled can stay away) in which we could share the links, watch shows and discuss the performances. I am a member of a Rush forum where we had periscope threads for each concet and worked beautyfuly. The only thing I would change from that format that we had there is that we would make a general periscope thread. Also another idea for staff: can we make The Book Of Souls Tour sub-forum that is without recquired spoiler tags (like Maiden Chat, Song and Album commentaries etc...) with a big SPOILER ALERT in the title.

There's already been discussion about separate threads for the Book of Souls tour once concrete information like setlists is out there, one spoiler-free and the other spoilers allowed. It's the first time I've heard the suggestion of a Periscope thread, and I suspect it could raise a few issues. We'll have to give that further thought.

Somebody from this forum, you mean? Not likely... we're a small forum.

can we make The Book Of Souls Tour sub-forum that is without recquired spoiler tags

For two reasons: no, we won't be doing that. First, the site admin with the power to create new forums is rarely here, and mods don't have that power. Second - as Brig mentioned - there will be a spoiler-allowed thread for the tour. We can create more if we need them, but there's really no need for a separate forum.

Most importantly: Maiden doesn't actually allow streaming. Read the fine print: you are not supposed to bring cameras to the venue. As a moderator, I am not inclined to allow links to resources that Maiden would consider illegal. To me, streaming shows without Maiden's permission is no different than giving out links to unreleased material, which we also forbid.

I might be able to go to the second Los Angeles show, but I won't know until my friend can get the okay. He won't know until January, and I'm hoping tickets won't be sold out by then. If they are, my question for you guys is this: since this is a paperless event, is it still possible for me to buy tickets through another website with my credit card, or would I need the original buyer to come by with his/her card?

would I need the original buyer to come by with his/her card?

Yes, you need the original buyer. That's how scalpers work in these paperless situations: you have to meet them at the venue, stand in line with them, and they'll scan their card to get you in. Not good for scalpers - you can only do it once at each gate before the venue catches on and calls the cops. (Which is, of course, the whole idea.)

In case you think this is bad... remember how bad it is with paper. Check out the reports about the Tool/Primus tickets that went on sale today; all sold out at 10am, snapped up by bots. Tool tickets are reportedly going for $1000 on ebay and stubhub only minutes after they "went on sale".

I will be filming the first night of the tour if anyone is interested. I may only film new songs or rare songs that haven't been played in a while though. I'm hoping the whole set list has new and rare tracks though and I film the whole thing. However, I'll be on the floor so it won't be the best overall footage. I'll have great crowd interaction though

Mike Portnoy and Steve Harris are the secret weapon of the human race. When the aliens invade - and they will - we'll have Mike and Steve work together and edit a brand new live video. We'll then beam it into space, and our enemies will go into seizures.
