The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

I did seats at Vegas and floor in Denver. Problem with the big arenas is that they aren't built for concerts and its hard to get as good a view of the stage as you would on the floor. But being away from the chaos of the floor is worth it I think. Also, from where I was in Vegas you could see the backstage shenanigans (watching them set up Eddie was neat).

Btw, I managed to get to the rail for Priest on the Epitaph tour and as cool as that was, it was definitely something I only needed to experience once.

I'm 5'4 and rarely get to actually see much of a band. I've been on the rail for plenty of other bands, and unless it's a lower-key gig (so you walk straight to the front without queuing all day) or you actually win FTTB, going forwards can go wrong if you get stuck behind lots of six footers. The only option is to go back and try to find a bit of space.

I know it'll lose out in atmosphere, but actually seeing the full show would be very good. I've already seen Maiden twice on this tour, festival mud hell, and indoors standing. Oslo was a decent view, partly due to the help of Wingman in maintaining a decent position by the second barrier. If it's Manchester next, I'm pretty sure everyone in the seats will end up on their feet anyway. ;)

All that saving money bit is true of course, but always easier said than done ;)
For me, back on the AMOLAD tour, the reason I missed the tour was both distance AND finances. The closest gig to me was 16 hours away and at that point in my life, it was not going to happen. But I figured to myself "No big deal. They always put out a live DVD anyway, right?"

@terrell39, you will surely get a DVD at some point. I can't see Harry not doing anything with the footage of this tour.
When missing a Maiden gig, the vey moment the concert is supposed to begin is really horrible. INstead of excitement and fun, you get anger and sadness. It happened to me, both for financial and schedule reasons (impossibility to get a couple days off) and it sucks big time. I'm in a situation where it is supposed not to happen again, and Maiden gigs were one of my first thoughts and source of satisfaction when getting a new job.

I like how Steve interrupted Bruce's speech to correct him on the football comments. ;)

Stellar performance by Bruce IMO. Now that I got used to Tokyo bootleg, it made quite an impression on me... Huh, TBoS is a nice point of reference.

And yes - now I feel bad about not attending the show even more. :P

It's july and they are touring since february. Very nice to see Bruce's voice is still ok!

:D

If somebody said a few years ago that Bruce will someday perform dressed as an ape I would call him crazy. :P

OK Ehm...Funny but also taking it too far. They're basically making fun of their own song/lyrics by now. Like "OK, We know these lyrics are silly as hell-Let's just make a big joke out of it"

Wow.

What's next? Bringing wild animals on stage?

Cow choir during HCW instead of IMFC members with Bruce, dressed as an ape, conducting.
