The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

I can't register. Whenever I try I get this message:
At the moment, signup to DIME is closed. Please check back with us in a few days for a re-opening.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Here's how it looks for me :|

That's too bad that you can't register Matic22 and strange why you can't get a download link NP. In that case, I'll upload it to a file host. I hope mp3 with a 320k bitrate will work.

Great to have!!!! And hear! Thanks a lot Travis!

This should be a feast when listening with headphones as well!

Travis that is great. Thanks a lot. It's Adrian's In-Ear monitor mix (his backing vocals are really loud, while Steve's are not existing, which is good, and his guitar is about 10% louder than other two).

Listening right now... Wow, guitars sound amazingly clear and crisp (drums lack some punch here and there). I'm at TBoS and the main riff sounds freaking fierce here. Dave's guitar adds some bite that I hadn't noticed before.

There are shifts in channel volume levels but you can hear everything. Qualiy is great. Man, I'm really curious how you obtain stuff like this. Basically some sound guy has to record it illegally, right? Or steal what's recorded anyway... ;)

Somebody probably found the frequency of H's wireless In-Ears, tuned in and recorded it.

I don't like the way opening track sounds on these bootlegs. It doesn't have enough punch. Seems like the ratio of staccato 'riffs' vs. strummed power chords in the mix was way up higher on the studio version. Any palm muting is barely audible until the pre-chorus part. I don't see the point of doing a song in dropped tuning (especially when the instrumental part has E as root key) if done like this. Smith is the only one that knows how to play so called modern metal rhythm guitar on ace level, looks like he took melodic parts here and the energy suffers.

On bootlegs. I guess that live energy will be in abundance.

I checked this out as well and it sounds poor compared to the Tokyo one. Probably recorded from the crowd with some good device.

Adrian is the only in-ear monitor user I guess, although Bruce might have it as well (he has something in his ear, but that might be just for protection).

On the verses: Janick does the only guitar riffing (the faster stuff, like Steve), and both Dave and Adrian do the open chords (what they might have done in the studio as well). That's why these longer chords sound more dominant. More in number, and if we have to believe that Adrian's sound is louder, that certainly makes a difference as well.

All three guitarists have In-Ear monitors since 2011 Final Frontier Tour. Adrian had them before (since 2000 I think). Bruce uses ear plugs to protect his hearing and relies on stage monitors as does Steve. Nicko has sidefills each side of his drum kit.

Thanks, I figured out that too from the videos but wanted to confirm. In any case, studio version has Smith's rhythm guitar under the verses (01:58, right channel), and I would also say there's an extra palm muted track behind the main melody.
I am not amused by this outcome because it really takes away the punch. I have a big stereo and when I crank up that vinyl version this riff beneath the verses is driving the whole thing. Looks like it's missing live :(

Just curious: source?

It could be Bruce's in-ear as well. It's not unknown that he's a fan of Adrian's guitars and vocals.

Bruce talked about that in Eddie Trunk interview. If you want proof for the guitarists watch any pro-shot since 2011 and look at their back pockets with wireless recievers in them. Also Nicko talked about this topic in Jericho's podcast, how Dave tried to convince him to try In-Ears.

I heard that interview just the other day. Will try to find it when I get home.
