The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

Official.

Iron Maiden and The Raven Age just confirmed that Steve Harris son George Harris and his band Raven Age are going to support Maiden on the upcoming tour. First leg at least....for now...

So, what do you guys think?

Kind of interesting, in at least on of the Bruce interviews, he said he would not want his kids bands opening for Maiden ... it would be "they just got the job because if his dad".

Hopefully they are good, but I am going for Maiden, does not matter to me who the opener is. It does say something that Maiden does not need to rely on double bills like some bands. Which is good

I personally don't like being on the floor and in the pit. I like an assigned seat where I can really enjoy the show and see the full stage and production really good. Also, I figured Maiden was popular enough here to where they would usually come very close to selling out. 10,000 is still really good though. And I could care less about the opening act as well. I'd be fine with none and Maiden still playing the same length they always do. Now, bring on those damn NA dates!

Same here, I am too old for pit seats. I had them from Powerslave through Virtual XI tours. I did the pit on Poland on the Maiden England Tour as all the floor seats were GA. Beyond that, I try for the closest assigned seat to the stage

I'm not sure he said exactly that... His son's band supported Maiden on one of the recent tours (some TFF dates I think).

He said exactly that in the Eddie Trunk podcast. Edit, I do not think his kids band was support as much as they played the same festival.

Non-festival gigs too (according to Wiki and tour list on IM.com). I remember him saying he wants to avoid nepotism (in that podcast), but I'm not sure that was in the context of supports. Well, if you have the exact quote then OK, I might be wrong.

It was quite a support act in the arena shows where I saw them in 2011.

Got it. That's the ticket I want, I'm thinking on join the fan club to get the pre-sales code, but I don't know how the ticket delivery works. I'm afraid it won't arrive in my house on time, since things that I buy from international sites always takes months to arrive in my country.

Given the amount of time they're giving in advance to the first few shows you should hopefully be fine.

I am considering joining the fanclub as well to get presale tickets and a guarantee of getting some in the UK, especially as they are not likely to be as expensive as I was expecting by this thread. Not sure I'm too worried about the actual place I get though.

I hope so... I'm waiting for them to announce the brazilian dates, then I'll decide if I join the fan club or not.

I found a website http://www.buzzanglemusic.com/charts/albums/which gives the album chart in 28 big city's for US, this may give a bit of a hint as to where Maiden play for those 13 shows. BOS first week in these markets

Number 3: Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Austin, Miami, Tampa, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Colombus, Philadelphia, New York
4: Sacramento, San Francisco / Oakland, Denver, San Antonio, Charlotte, Nashville, Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, Baltimore,
5: Portland, Washington, Boston
6: Dallas Ft Worth, Houston, Jacksonville
7: Atlanta

So Seattle, LA (2 shows?), Pheonix, Austin, Miami, Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York, San Fran, Nashville, Chicago, Indianapolis? 13.

Surprised Dallas and Houston so low.

With this talk about ticket sales I thought it prudent to ask: how difficult is it usually to get UK tickets? I gather the majority of users here are older than me and having never been before (next year will hopefully be my first concert full stop and Maiden is definitely the place to start) hoping for some advice on how quickly they tend to sell out, particularly in London which would be easiest for me to get to.
Can be tough if you want standing or good seats. Fanclub will get a good allocation then what is left, some will go on presale but most will be sold through secondary sites at extortionate prices. Best thing to do is sign up to Live Nation as they will have a presale usually on the Thursday (general sale Friday) if you have O2 pay as you go or contract mobile phone they will have a presale usually Wed/Thur. If you cant get pre sale then depending on the venue you want tickets for there are different sites (I avoid Ticketmaster whenever possible) Eventim are best for Manchester and Newcastle also try ticketline, gigantic.com, see tickets or the venue websites. If you want seats DON'T SETTLE FOR upper tier or at the back. Hang on keep trying they ALWAYS release more, Hold your nerve. But if you want standing MOVE FAST when they are gone they are gone.

Wondering what European countries Maiden have never played or rarely played that might be included this time?????. Apparently Malta is a possible stop this time. Been to Belgrade Prague and Gdansk on last tours so looking for a good place to visit next year. Greece aint been done for a while has it ?

The FC is currently advising members to register on sellers' websites in advance of the presales, too, ready for the rush. That's the NZ, Australia and South African tickets they're talking about, though.

As someone else posted this morning, Slovenia is a current rumour, although people on the FC forum are dismissing it for reasons they won't go into.

Probably because the last Maiden show here in 2007 was a technical and sales disaster (they were pissed because of the poor organisation and the promoter went bankrupt because there was only 7000 people in the 13000 capacity stadium). Still I can see it as a possibility in an Arena with 12000 capacity (as Zagreb in 2013), because the popularity has grown massively since then.

Thanks a lot for this. I will have a chat with my friend and see what we'd prefer; still some time to sort it out as UK dates haven't been announced. We'll be looking for London tickets as that's by far best from Cambridge.

I'd quite like standing so getting fanclub registration seems the way to go. Can you get 2 tickets from a single fanclub account? I feel like this is probably yes but I want to make sure.
