The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

Iron Maiden's YouTube channel just uploaded an ad for The Book of Souls World Tour. There are some snippets from selected songs of the new album playing in the ad. Could this be a foreshadowing of some of the tracks that will be played live?

I think it's a fair bet that every song in that video will be played. For the curious:

- Speed of Light
- Fear of the Dark
- The Trooper
- Death or Glory
- The Number of the Beast
- The Book of Souls
- Hallowed Be Thy Name

So does every IM show in the US always sell out? How quickly do the Virginia, Maryland or North Carolina shows sell out? I'm not a fan club fan and depending on the dates and time of year, I may not be able to commit so far out. I may have to though if it will sell out in a heartbeat.

I've seen Maiden shows recently in all 3 places and they typically don't sell out super fast (if at all but it's tough with venues with lawn tickets). As long as you get tickets within a few weeks of them going on sale you should be good to go. Obviously the best tickets are usually gone by then but you should still be able to get in the door.

No real surprises there! It's encouraging to see Death or Glory on the list... and we can be all but certain we'll get IESF as the opener, but I hope more TBOS tunes are included. This still leaves half the set unknown!

Eh, I don't care one bit who the openers for Maiden are as long as Maiden are playing. Is it nice to have a band I like or know opening up? Sure. But I'm shelling out the $$ for Maiden alone.

Raven Age were okay when I saw them with British Lion, but I was thinking there'd be someone slightly bigger supporting. They're kind of generic modern metal, although as I say, not bad at all. They didn't sound much like the music in that clip, from what I remember.

As I mentioned before - generic metalcore thing, that all their sons happen to play... Who the hell listens to this and why so many people play this kind of music? :P Sorry, I really don't get this genre.

Nepotism at its finest, but we're kind of used to that ;) Lucky kids, though. Anyway - the support is not important. I guess the vast majority of the crowd is always just hyping for Maiden during supports. In my opinion recently there's been only one band that fit as Maiden support perfectly: Ghost. Big enough to get some attention, original and very listenable. Not to mention that their visual aspect bears some resemblance to how Maiden approach their stage production.

Hasn't one of Steve's other kids supported for Maiden before?
Yes, Lauren Harris.

I would have loved Sabaton.

As an opening act they would have been perfect. Powerful songs, strong stage presence, massive energy in their songs.

They would have been perfect.

Sabaton are cool, but after seeing them open for Maiden twice I'd rather see them as headliners (did in March, they were great), and have someone else open for Maiden.

Yes........in the U.S. tickets will start selling fast from the diehards and then taper off. If you want pit tickets join the fan club or get on your computer first thing when they go on sale. They go quick because many are held back for VIPs. In arenas that hold 14-18,000 you will usually see an attendance of about 8-10,000. In big metropolitan areas like Southern California where I live, they usually try to play a larger amphitheater or do two shows. For example down here they usually play in San Manuel pavilion, which is the largest in the country and holds 65,000. I believe attendance was 44,000 for the last show.

I personally don't like being on the floor and in the pit. I like an assigned seat where I can really enjoy the show and see the full stage and production really good. Also, I figured Maiden was popular enough here to where they would usually come very close to selling out. 10,000 is still really good though. And I could care less about the opening act as well. I'd be fine with none and Maiden still playing the same length they always do. Now, bring on those damn NA dates!

With this talk about ticket sales I thought it prudent to ask: how difficult is it usually to get UK tickets? I gather the majority of users here are older than me and having never been before (next year will hopefully be my first concert full stop and Maiden is definitely the place to start) hoping for some advice on how quickly they tend to sell out, particularly in London which would be easiest for me to get to.

I am a proud new father of two general admission standing tickets for Sydney and Melbourne. I'll be standing as close as possible on Dave's side of the stage. The Book Of Souls will dominate the car stereo on the road trip and it'll be a weekend of Maiden madness.

Good luck to everyone buying tickets around the world. Get yourself to the front row!

Can anyone remember what they paid for tickets in the UK during the TFF tour? I remember the O2 tickets in 2013 were something like £60, but people are telling me tickets for venues outside of London during the TFF tour were as little as £35.

When I saw them at the O2 for the TFF tour in 2011 I believe I paid around £45-£50 for a ticket.
