The Marvel Thread (Spoilers, and language!)

Don't know anything about Colter. He looks the part I suppose - but on a face shot, all it takes is black and bald.

I really wish they had gone with Terry Crews. Cage isn't a young dude, he's a bit older, more like Wolverine. I believe Crews can do more than yelling for Old Spice. He wanted it bad, and I'd love to see him try it.

We know that Marvel has Howard The Duck in the MCU now. How I long for a good Howard movie... not for Howard, but to see Marvel bring to life Howard's arch-nemesis, Doctor Bong.

Bong is usually found trying to steal Howard's girlfriend Beverly. Every now and then he encounters another hero...

Later, the Doctor was dismayed when he discovered his sons' love for animated cartoons. He developed "Bong-Vision," a means to reshape the cartoons (and other televised programming) into realistic three-dimensional realities. Coincidentally, She-Hulk and other citizens became trapped in these deadly realities, and She-Hulk worked her way through to confront Bong directly.

Or as She-Hulk saw it...

Another connection to the comics: Daisy Johnson first appeared in the story "Secret War", which took place before Civil War. The main result of that story: Nick Fury being forced to go underground. This is why Fury did not appear in Civil War, but he did leave Captain America with the location of old SHIELD bases for Cap to use in Civil War. Now the MCU has underground Fury and Civil War coming up ... it's still all connected.

No idea. Nobody had a post about it on reddit last night, which is a good place to check. If it's someone obvious, it gets posted within minutes.

Right now it appears that Raina is ... Raina.

Edit: Skye and her dad as based on Daisy Johnson and Mr. Hyde (Calvin Zabo) is confirmed by Marvel. Raina is speculation.

Best speculation I'm seeing for the blind guy is Reader, a brand new Inhumans character. He just hit comic book shops last August in Inhuman #4.

I don't have this comic, but word is that Reader is blind. He's also already had an encounter with Daredevil, who is coming to Netflix...

Here's a depressing thought: no AoS for 3 months :( But to be fair, I'd rather have this one long break than 5 small ones.

I'm excited for Agent Carter though.

This is better for the show. Nobody expects to see anything during December, and then Agent Carter. SO excited.

A man by the username 'insider89film" on Reddit posted the following yesterday. It pertains to Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, actors potentially up for the role, Andrew Garfield's future in superhero cinema, and what his solo films could be like. Here is the text:

"Just got word from a trusted source of mine over at Disney that sometime within the last week or so, Sony Japan and Sony Pictures renegotiated a deal with Marvel Studios. Nothing has been made 100% official yet, and the final decision is still set to be made in January at Sony's "Spidey Summit", but all of the plans are now in place. If Sony agrees to the deal, Marvel will then hold creative control over future Spidey films while Sony gets a share of the profits he makes, with marketing and distribution rights for all standalone films.
Spider-Man would be joining the MCU in a small but important cameo in Cap 3, with the first movie of a new franchise already being prepped for a 2018 release date. Marvel plans on skipping the origin story altogether for the first film and will jump right into Spider-Man being a hero for a few years, likely in college or just afterwards.
Marvel has already begun development on the script, and has begun looking at potential directors for the Spider-Man reboot. Marvel will not be bringing Andrew Garfield onboard, but has talked to him separately about possibly joining Marvel for another role in a future film of theirs.
Marvel already has a shortlist of actors in mind for the Peter Parker role that includes: Anton Yelchin, Dylan O'Brien, Freddie Highmore, Thomas Mann, Logan Lerman, Michael Angarano, Douglas Booth, Nat Wolff, and Skandar Keynes.
Announcement from Sony & Marvel coming sometime in late January/February, assuming the deal becomes official."

Please keep in mind that this news should be taken lightly, and that nothing has been confirmed as of now.

How do you feel about this?

This has been going on for a couple of weeks. Talks were secret, and got leaked (hacked emails). Sony backed out - they're not giving up creative control of the franchise. Just about every other point was settled and that's where Sony balked, because they don't want to give up on the Sinister Six and Venom dreams.

But when the leak broke, it also meant that Sony (Corporate) heard what Sony Pictures was up to ... and Sony Corporate basically said "are you fucking nuts, turning down Marvel Money?" So talks are back on, but it's likely nothing will happen.

Here are some other tidbits that have come out:

The script for Captain America: Civil War is done, and there's no Spidey, nor room to fit one in. This comes from the Russo brothers who are directing it (and wrote it).

If Marvel does get Spidey rights, they're re-casting. They don't like Andrew Garfield. This from a leaked email from a Marvel exec.
