The Marvel Thread (Spoilers, and language!)

I thought I read somewhere that Avengers is going to pull a Harry Potter/Twilight and break the final film up into 2 films. It seems like an odd choice, especially since other Marvel films will no doubt come out between Part 1 and 2, no?

Captain Marvel and Inhumans will come out between parts 1 and 2. Also, the story being told is being broken up over many films already. Infinity War is the conclusion of the Infinity Stones storyline that began in Phase 1, and parts of that story were a major focus of Guardians of the Galaxy this summer. Some actors involved - notably Chris Evans as Captain America - have contracts running out before Infinity War, so Marvel may use the other movies to introduce those heroes that will eventually beat Thanos.

AoS is kicking ass this season. All episodes so far have been awesome, acting has been outstanding and the action scenes are better than ever.

Btw.

He is contracted for enough movies to be in part 1.

If I were Marvel, I'd put him under some kind of contract for part 2, just so the entire fan community stops speculating about Cap's imminent death. Then Whedon can kill off Cap in part 1 anyway with the kind of shock he wants.

Why give him the name of the FF's arch-enemy if you're changing the character? Victor von Doom and Reed Richards were college roommates before they became Doctor Doom and Mr. Fantastic, and the enmity from that time has always been a big part of the story.

More, it seems like a "hacker" is a disappointing enemy. The Fantastic Four have usually fought mad scientists, aliens and cosmic foes. They go into space and alternate dimensions more than any other Earth-based Marvel character (aside from maybe Dr. Strange and Agent Brand's troops on the SWORD station). If they won't use Doom (and I understand the decision not to use Galactus) then why not the enemy from FF#1, Mole Man bringing his monsters up from the underground? Why not Skrulls?

They're the Fantastic Four. Pitting them against ordinary humans loses the idea of what has always made the FF special.

Edit: I was previously rooting for this movie to succeed. I'm one of the few who liked the first two FF movies; for all their faults they at least tried to stay close to the characters (until the Galactus fiasco). I was just barely willing to give them a chance on explaining how Johnny turned black, but if they're gonna shit all over Doctor Doom, arguably Marvel's greatest villain, forget it.
