Detective Beauregard
Leviathan of Doggerland
I’ve been trying to think of something witty to say, but yeah… I’ve got nothing. That’s fucked up on all levels.
To be specific the initials stand for National Socialist Black Metal, “Nazi” of course being derived from “national socialism”.I’m a little late to the party, but what’s NSBM?
Appreciate the info. I guess this makes me appreciate regular non-Nazi black metal more, as I take comfort in knowing that the forest-dwelling, face-painted creatures behind every screech and pot bang are… not Nazis. To be specific the initials stand for National Socialist Black Metal, “Nazi” of course being derived from “national socialism”.
You're on fuckin' shrooms. I expect this from Jer. I expect this from Kalata. I did not expect this from You. What a catastrophe this game has been. Et tu, Brute? These knives hurt my soul more than they hurt my skin. The only blood that rains must be my own, sliced clean open to tear my trust right out from under these coarse and cracked ribs. Oh King, save me! what has this world left for me now? All these prayers become like dust, mingling in the sewers where tears are drawn from. What bitter oaths we shared in the Symphony X thread are left in tatters, words float into the gutter like some sort of sacrilegious testament to our triumphs and tragedies. Somebody kill me now before I see the utter horrors that lay in store for me. Merciful Heaven, when will you remove all the pain from my soul? This burden of always having the right opinions has left me a wretch in a world full of Knicks and Beaus, who blind my eyes and give me woes, and tell me black is really white and rain is worse than gangland's fright... oh it's Heaven and Hell indeed. The only good thing about Raining Blood is that riff. Gangland is more enjoyable throughout.

Honestly! I thought it was some dumb Jump clone.Rainbow in the Dark is one of the dumbest songs to appear in this game by a serious artist. So plodding, so repetitive, like a song Dio farted out because his record company wanted a big single. Easy vote for Love Bites there.
'Heaven And Hell' and 'Rising' are very great albums by Black Sabbath and Rainbow including Dio as the singer. So, yeah, it would be a blasphemy, imho. But, you can say that towards records by Elf, for example, that were shitty. Is it blasphemy to say the Holy Diver album pisses all over the other stuff Dio did? (Included his work with Sabbath)
Pisses all over is maybe going a bit too far, but Holy Diver is a classic up there with albums like The Number of the Beast. Rising is my favorite album with Dio on vocals though. Is it blasphemy to say the Holy Diver album pisses all over the other stuff Dio did? (Included his work with Sabbath)
For me, ''Rainbow In The Dark'', ''Holy Diver'', ''The Last In Line'', ''Don't Talk To Strangers'' and ''We Rock'' - are all untouchable.Nah, that’s the best song of Dio's solo career.
I think his first 2 solo albums are stronger as a whole piece than all of his other work. Part of the big classics in metal! Is it blasphemy to say the Holy Diver album pisses all over the other stuff Dio did? (Included his work with Sabbath)
My favorite is Last in Line, but I do like Rainbow in the Dark. Oddly, though, Dio always hated it.Nah, that’s the best song of Dio's solo career.
Almost. My take: Dio's (the band) overall output is very, very good, and Holy Diver is probably the best of the bunch, but it's still not quite as good as any of the albums he did with Rainbow or Sabbath. Yes, that includes Dehumanizer. Is it blasphemy to say the Holy Diver album pisses all over the other stuff Dio did? (Included his work with Sabbath)
My list of favorite Dio albums certainly includes Dehumanizer too. Actually it's in my top 3 with Rising and Dream Evil.Yes, that includes Dehumanizer
