"A NEW BEER!!!" has become the "Wrathchild!!!" of the 2020s, so I hope there's an actual Wratchild beer around the corner... The mother of all MaidenFans recurring jokes.
Seriously though, I've liked most of the Robinsons Trooper beers, so I wouldn't mind a new one, haha. I mean, they're nothing extraordinary, but some of them are actually very, very good!
As for possible things coming up... I think Bruce's "you'll be happy..." might very well be this tour announcement. Or maybe they're actually putting out a live album before 2024 leg of the tour, but... I think it would be very odd move for Maiden to release a live album with a set they're still doing on tour. Okay, Nights of the Dead was
kind of such live album, but under very different circumstances.
Well, pretty sure there will be a Future Past live album at some point (and hopefully bluray, wishful thinking). Will they release next year before the 2024 leg starts? It is almost a year away. I would think 2 years of Future Past will be enough. 2025 is the 50th anniversary so I would rather see a new album and tour. Maybe they will also release an all new compilation as well. I can see it now - "Still giving Ed. 50 year of Iron Maiden".....or a beer.
I wonder if the live album is planned for early 2025. Possible studio sessions around same time, a short summer tour under Future Past title but with a couple of setlist changes and album announcement & release later on..? Alternatively the 2025 tour could be something like TFF 2010 (or Give Me Ed) with a taster of the new stuff and also setting up the visual landscape of the upcoming album. If there will be another album, that is.
In any case, I don't think they're going to do anything particularly flashy with the 50th anniversary thing,
but I could see the year 2025, whatever theme they're touring with, having some setlist inclusions of that nature, e.g Remember Tomorrow and/or Phantom of the Opera. Maybe.
Well, just speculating.
So, most likely no Euro dates for 2024. That's fine and fair. I'm genuinely happy for the fans in Australia, New Zealand and Japan for the chance to catch this tour
and to see Maiden live after such a long break in the first place.
I would've loved some European dates, of course, but hey, at least I'm going to see Bruce Dickinson show next summer - a dream come true! Not too excited about it being most likely a festival appearance, but... whatever the case, I'm just happy for the chance.
