The Future Past tour 2023

Listening to CSIT again, sounds absolutely glorious, I still can’t believe it. Small fuck-ups aside, my main concern was the tempo, Nicko is a bloody beast. Bruce is singing it much better than 1986.
Yeah Bruce did it much bettter. Tempo was okay and the drums, although VERY simplified were great. I was sure that they couldn't pull that off. I was wrong, and I'm glad to be.

I think for PowerTrip it could be Celts out and Hallowed or TNOTB+RTTH in.
I think for Powertrip it might be the same setlist as the rest of the tour, as they've always done. Sure, they agreed to the nonsense for likely unfathomable sums of money for one gig. But do you really expect them to have any sense of duty to the audience that really couldn't care less as long as they hear their RTTHs, NOTBs, Halloweds and FOTDs? I think this set serves as a pretty obvious statement towards people that Iron Maiden does not want to be typecast.

I think money still talks. They said this tour would be Europe only... But then...

I just got back from the show. An incredible night!

I arrived at the venue around 19:15, and was in the fan pit fifteen minutes later. (I feel bad for the people in the general admission area. Someone in the fan pit could have arrived at 21:00 and still got a better spot than someone in GA who had been on their feet for 12 hours - and it's not like the GA tickets were that much cheaper). I was in the seventh row (more or less), center-left, but moved around during the show. The crowd was rough at times, and there was a small mosh pit that kept opening up.

The band delivered everything we could have expected with the setlist. So many bold choices! It was exciting to hear "Alexander the Great", but "Caught Somewhere in Time" - played at virtually the same tempo as on the album - was the biggest highlight. (I'm also glad that we got "Death of the Celts" over "The Parchment". As I've noted a few times, it's one of Harris's greatest bass performances ever, and it was played with so much energy live. But the crowd didn't seem to be into it).

Something has to give, and I'm glad the band dropped the "big three" from The Number of the Beast. It's a bold choice, but it was needed to make room for everything from "Somewhere in Time" and "Senjutsu". (All three of those were on the last tour, and I'm sure all three will be back on the next tour).

Everyone sounded good (even though Dickinson flubbed one of the verses on "CSIT"). Smith got a solo showcase tonight - he got to play arguably four of the best solos he's ever done. (Reading through these comments, it sounds like he may have screwed up the solo on "ATG" - from the chaos of the pit, it was impossible to tell).

I liked the backdrops. Eddie as Alexander was my favourite. There was a bit less emphasis on gimmicks this time (no giant inflatable airplane).

Also, this was my 4th time seeing The Raven Age. This was probably the best performance I've seen from them (granted, a low bar).

What a great show! It absolutely flew by - maybe more than any other concert I've been to. It was an amazing experience to see the tour debut in person. I can't say enough about the setlist. The one from 2018 was excellent, but I think they've topped it. (If somebody posted it last year, it would have been dismissed immediately as wishful thinking). @andreljbernardo said it best a couple of pages back - this is like a late-career gift to their hardcore fans.
