Any stage set predictions ?
Ι think its gonna be a futuristic japan theme.

Senjutsu set from LOTB, re-decorated to SIT theme when they start playing SIT songs. Or the other way around if they open with the SIT theme. I think they're going to continue with the "worlds" system they introduced for LOTB.

So if we can get the first mech fotos before the show its clear that some songs are to be revealed
Very likely. Altough they did have a Hallowed/Shadows of the Valley shirt in 2017 and neither got played. Hallowed was in the setlist originally so obviously merch is mostly based on the setlist. A shirt with Alexander the Great artwork would be a giveaway.

I think they're going to continue with the "worlds" system they introduced for LOTB.
I don't think so. My guess is they will have the stage as a futurisic Japan, like some have speculated, and backdrops to go with it. Bruce will wear a leather jacket/coat similar to Stranger in a Strange Land Eddie with a samuraian touch, maybe his hair tied up like last year and some sort of blinking lights on his coat.

If I remember correctly, the band had played The Fallen Angel at a couple of gigs in 2000 (instead of The Mercenary), but Out of the Silent Planet was played for the first time at those Fan Club gigs at Shepherds Bush in London. Apparently, the latter was only released as a single because that was what EMI wanted (the band’s choice was Brave New World).
I didn't know that. Thanks for the curious info.

Bloody hell, that sounds like the shittiest encore ever.
I don't think Maiden have ever had a weak encore.
Hell on Earth's popular, but it's not 'lead off an encore' popular. (Don't start about Journeyman, that one was just plain weird.)
I disagree. And yes, Journeyman was an exception.
The two things I've just never understood from the pre-tour banter.

- Futureal's happening.
- Stratego's gone.

If theming was something they're after, Futureal would have been in the set from 2010-2011.
They need more space for other new songs in the set and Nicko will be happy. Futureal is more fitting for this tour than it was for TFF tour.
For what is worth, Journeyman features a wonderful singalong
Yep, that's why it was in the encores.
I thought reading into meaningless details was the whole point of being a Iron Maiden fan?
After TWOTW campaign, I wouldn't call them meaningless.
I'm not expecting Futureal to be in, but it would be my highlight of the night after Alexander and Hell On Earth, assuming TLOTLDR doesn't make it.
The whole tour is a highlight. But if I have to mention some songs: Alexander, Hell On Earth, Parchment, CSIT, Stranger, Sea...

I agree.
I just really can't see them having 2 obscure songs in one set, no way they have LOTLDR and Alexander together. It's Maiden after all .
I'm not expecting Long Distance Runner at all, but given Steve's comments about it, why not.
I'm guessing on their official website they will do what they did for LOTB in 2018?
I hope so.
They won't play in 2023 the songs they had problems playing in 1986. Lets be realistic. Also, Stranger in a strange land should be on their list cause most of their songs are slow now. I expect no surprise. The songs they've played regularly + Alexander the Great. As for their latest album. Well, I am afraid they would go for the easy solution there too. Meaning that they would -probably- add Days fo future past and Hell on Earth. The first due to the name of the tour and the latter cause it is really easy to play and the last song to the record. I would love things to be different but I guess it is too late to hope for changes at this very late stage in their career.
Why does a song have to be difficult to be great and to be played? Your argument about Long Distance Runner is spot on.
I´d say it´s the other way around. If they don´t play it now they will never going to play it
This.
I agree that Maiden have never been bold with their live choices. Then again I think that the whole point of this new tour is to play ATG.
Exactly. There were some bold choices and difficult songs for Bruce over the years. Not from TFF album though.
They will be using the same basic structure they bought back in 2003.
And it works great.

I don't see them playing LOTLDR or Sea Of Madness. The first one was dropped after one live performance and the second one will be tough for them now. I don't expect surprises. I just hope for Caught Somewhere In Time. It is difficult, too, but is essential imo. The other 4 tracks out of SIT probably will be Wasted Years, HCW, Alexander and of course Stranger. I, also expect an obscure song from another album. Please no Total Eclipse. Just play Futureal or something they played on the original tour, like Wrathchild or Children of the Damned. Dream of Mirrors fits with the tour theme I think, but not possible. From Senjutsu, Hell on Earth seems guaranteed, DOFP too. Then probably the easy way out with Stratego, WOTW and another epic? Maybe Time Machine fits better. Then 4 out of the classics: FOTD and Trooper guaranteed, then I hope Hallowed and maybe Evil that men do or Clairvoyant so that they play something off SSOASS. Probably it will be 666.

For the first time, I CAN'T WAIT to learn the setlist.

As far as I can tell they leave the more intricate songs out of their live gigs.
