The Concert Thread

One of these is first time ever live and a few are the first time live since the late 70s/early 80s (including my favorite song of theirs). Really excited for this and glad I have good seats. This will be my first time seeing VH live with David Lee Roth as the singer since 1985-- the 1984 Tour -- saw them with Sammy Hagar in 1988 and saw Dave (solo) live in 1987 and 1994.

I am going to Hawkwind next month! Man, this is exciting, to see these legends. I didn't think they'd ever come back to the Netherlands anymore. They always stick around in the UK and don't do much live anyway.

I was going to say, I haven't really noticed them playing in the UK much.

Updated:
August 8 Steve Harris/British Lion, Newcastle
November 23 Judas Priest, Bradford
December 19 Nightwish, Arch Enemy, Amorphis, London
February 27 2016 Sabaton and Alestorm, Manchester

I've completely spent up now. I might be letting some tickets go at some point, not sure which ones yet. :/

Motörhead tonight!

Also it's gonna be on TV so hopefully someone's gonna rip it and upload to YouTube. Would be the third show I attended that has a pro-shot video (after Big Audio Dynamite and Faith No More).

So the concert was fucking crazy. Moshpits from start to finish, there was dust everywhere.

Setlist: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/motorhead/2015/petrovaradin-novi-sad-serbia-bf68932.html

I pretty much went because I wanted to see Lemmy while I still can. Motörhead was never one of my favorite bands anyway, so whatever setlist they played I would have been OK with it. Here's a pro-shot recording of Ace Of Spades:

Yeah, his voice has gone to complete shit but in that moment I didn't really care.

Here's a pic, I was really close to the stage as you can see :)

Just got tickets to Queensryche today, 3rd row tickets I might add.

Going:
Def Leppard, Styx, Tesla 9/30/15
Queensryche 10/25/15

Maybe:
Dragonforce
Symphony X

Saw Electric Eel Shock. This Japanese garage metal-trio is just something you have to experience live. All the rock clichés you can think of, taken to another level completely in a twisted Japanese fashion. For example - drummer Gian plays with two drumsticks in each hand, shows off at every possible moment and can even be caught juggling - all the while keeping a steady beat. (Did I mention he only wears a sock to cover his private parts on stage?) Singer/guitarplayer Aki lifts his Flying V up in the air with his teeth, and shreds like the best. Just a damn good rock n roll show. You're left wondering why these guys aren't the most famous rock band in the world.

On Saturday I will be seeing Scorpions, Dream Theater, Saxon and Blue Oyster Cult, plus former World Superbike Champion James Toseland who is now in a Rock Band.

Then next month I have Steve Harris in Oxford, plus Metallica, Alexisonfire and Gojira at Reading Festival. In November I'm going to see Megadeth for the seventh time and Avantasia just announced a show in London in March but I'll buy a ticket for that when I've sorted out the stuff for my new place. I might go to see a band called Skarlett Riot in a tiny venue in London in October as well.

Just bought tickets for Armored Saint in September! 5th row!

Armored Saint and Symphony X in the same week! Both of my biggest vocal influences! And it's my 30th birthday that week! Everything's comin' up Knickerbocker.
