Hey @Black Wizard - how was the festival?
It was good thanks. :) I got back at 6am today so and was super tired. Dream Theater were good despite only getting an hour long set. They played some interesting songs although LaBrie's voice sounded like shit during the first two songs. Scorpions were great fun but lost points for starting 25 minutes late. It was worth the wait though and they ended with 'Rock You Like A Tropical Cyclone' which was cool. I also saw Saxon (ok), Blue Oyster Cult (ok), a couple of country bands and a couple of generic rock bands.

Just got back from seeing Kobra and the Lotus, they were really awesome. The venue was...incredibly small and kind of sad. Only about 30 people in the crowd. But they put in a killer show, nonetheless. Also had a thrash band called Hatchet opening up for them - it was what imagine being at a Slayer/Megadeth concert must have felt like in 1984.

Summer Slaughter was good last night, Arch Enemy tore it up, Alissa sounds excellent with them, even better than Angela!!!

As for the other bands, I enjoyed Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, and The Acacia Strain, and, those were the only other ones I saw

and Faith No More were good this past Saturday night, despite that they didnt play my favorite song by them, "Zombie Eaters"

I'll be seeing Arch Enemy with Nightwish later this year, money and travel plans allowing. Alissa has an incredible growl, although tbh I think I prefer Angela's voice. You could sever an artery on it.

Arch Enemy and Nightwish are touring together?! That will be an interesting show and an interesting mix of a 90% female crowd.

And Amorphis too. Actually, I'm getting less and less impressed by the whole prospect of this. It's at a bad time of year for me, and the venue messed my tickets up. I still don't know where I'm going to be sitting, but it's likely to be in a poor position right at the back.

Anyone in the Netherlands for that?! Sounds amazing.

Those Up The Irons guys sure have their work cut out for them - learning Book of Souls songs for a big gig in less than a month!

That's my birthday. And Dennis Wilcock(s/x) isn't going to be there. Worthless. <_<

As I already wrote in the "Steve Harris" thread, I made my way to Edinburgh and saw British Lion with support of Raven Age on the 9th of August. Fantastic show, got to hear all my favourite songs of the album of course ("Lost Worlds" is my favourite) as well as some really convincing new material - one titled "Bible Black" was especially good. My second time seeing them after the Stockholm gig in 2013.

Good times at the Festival Pier this past Saturday, Lagwagon, Strung Out, and Swingin Utters were good, I didnt really watch NOFX that much, not really a fan of them.. But overall, it was a nice day, despite being a bit hot, but I was really impressed with how the Pier has improved, lots more spots to sit down, more shady spots, and just more spread out, I definitley would want to go to more shows there!

One last summer show remains, the Zeppelin tribute band "Zoso" Thursday the 27th, and then, here's my awesome fall concert schedule:

(9/12: possibly Ashes of Ares, haven't decided on it yet)

9/22: Cheap Trick

9/25: Kashmir(another Zeppelin tribute band)

10/14: Collective Soul

10/16: Kansas

10/27: Anderson Ponty Band(new band with Jon Anderson of Yes)

11/1: Blind Guardian

11/14: Heavens Edge

11/20: Steve Hackett

11/22: Chris Robinson Brotherhood

Ahhh I love fall:shred::cheers:

I got one of the big black inflatable Metallica balls on Saturday! Going to see Hatebreed tonight, where I expect there to be a lot of angry people.

This morning I bought tickets for Helloween in February and Avantasia in March, then, when I had a look on Tickmaster's UK site to see if they'd accidentally put up Iron Maiden dates, I saw that Symphony X are in the UK in February! So far I only know they're doing shows in Bristol, Glasgow and Wolverhampton.
