The Soul has been quite popular in metal. Testament (Souls of Black) ,Tyranny of Souls, Soulfly (the band), At the gates (Slaughter of the Soul) etc. It was a matter of time for Maiden to use it.

They've referred to the soul lyrically a bunch of times too. Not surprising that it's finally made it into an album title, really. :)

It is going a silent week until Friday. We know no interviews, no reviews are allowed. I guess this could hold up to the single's release. And then a tsunami of Maiden madness.
 
Glide Magazine's Janick interview will be back online Wednesday, as far as I know. I think I read another couple of publications are due out then, too, so there could be more Maiden news before the single. That would make sense, as a bit of build-up to that.
 
But do we know the exact time that the single is going to be available on youtube?

I sure hope so. Or is Maiden going to be mysterious about it and make everyone keep refreshing their site until SOL shows up? The fun of it all!

So I remember for amolad we got teasers for all songs of the album ahead of the release.

Will we get something similar?

We got teasers ahead of time for TFF too. I remember going nuts over "We will ride this thunder bird. Silver shadows on the earth". And the sample for The Man Who Would Be King was part of the slow intro.
 
Maybe a countdown on the official sight in the next day or two? Then the single, along with samples and some more artwork? That would be killer and would be similar to the TFF promo...
 
Ya, we could very well get another SOL teaser with some vocals. I'm really dying to see how this week is going to play out. Can you feel the excitement and mystery? I love what Maiden is doing here!
