The only ballad that Maiden ever did I think, is Wasting Love, because it was talking about love. Slow songs are not necessary ballads.
I would think "Tears of A Clown" fits the ballad title quite well. Or maybe its an instrumental.
I hope not, I dont like Starblind and Isle of Avalon.I think The Great Unknown could follow the ground Smith has been treading with Starblind and Isle of Avalon. He's been going down that road since Paschendale, the next logical step is to have a more concise song with those proggier musical elements.
I suggest we open two new threads for that, one with spoilers and one without spoilers....and now we have to spend three pages discussing the use of spoiler tags relating to hypothetical album reviews...
Of course. An instrumental that will make you close eyes and picture a crying clown, especially in the light of this "definite concept" of Book of Souls!I would think "Tears of A Clown" fits the ballad title quite well. Or maybe its an instrumental.
Would someone please explain to me how Starblind is progressive?
It follows the typical verse-chorus-verse-chorus-middle instrumental part-verse-chorus pattern. That is not in the least bit progressive.
Its the way the riffs are built, and the drums are following a progressive pattern. Even if the construction of the song is standardWould someone please explain to me how Starblind is progressive?

That actually makes a lot of sense, because the lines are basically referring to breaking out from the chains of organized religion at that stage, so there to be a "relieving" music factor linked to the lyrics is kinda cool.I like how it builds to the "Preacher loses face with Christ" section when we're finally given a straight beat.
Well it does have three verses so I'd call it a song"Songs"? Aren't you supposed to sing to call it a song?
The word you are looking for is boring....
