I'd actually have expected Iced Earth to win against Rush on this forum.  I'm quite surprised.  Voted for Iced Earth.

I'll go with Rush here. In addition to being a great band, they are a major influence for Maiden and earn plus points for that.

I like rush, but I like IE better, plus they aren't really metal are they?

I don't give a rat's ass about Iced Earth's fate since Jon Schaffer went bananas.
They might break up just as well tomorrow. Iced Earth created some mighty albums years ago (my favourite ones are the second and the third), but I am not going to support a band of such a narrow minded fool, not even in an innocent internet poll such as this topic. Who knows a future album is going to surprise me (and will be rid of all the paranoia, patriotic bullshit) but right now other bands are more important.

To be one of the greatest bands of all times, it has to be metal? I didn't know about that.

Iced Earth compared to Rush is beyond laughable.

Floyd. BOC had some really strong songs but also quite some less interesting.
