I'm with you SMX on all counts, except I guess the crucial one.
Not only are The Peppers more consistent, but they are tighter, better musicians and have a more adventurous catalogue.
Metallica is an excellent band. They will run away with this because of the affection so many have for their early albums.
But over the years the Peppers have created more good music.
They are a better band.
And I liked the Give It Away. But I loved the Joe Walsh.
