TBOS Tour Predictions

Bruce said on Eddie Trunk's show he thought certain "classics" that have been played a lot in the past few years need to be swapped out. He specifically mentioned giving RTTH a rest and bringing Hallowed back.
I agree with you on TBOS as well. 3 or 4 is not enough... 6 or 7 would be nice!!

Yeah, I remember that. The problem is if they take RTTH from the set and add something like Wrathchild instead...

I also agree about TBOS - the more the better!

I'm not sure how you guys feel about Maiden's setlist, but for me, as a fan, the more "different" songs they play, the better.

It will be interesting how the 2016/17 setlists differ, since we will be getting them "backwards"... on the two previous album tours in 2006 and 2010, the sets were more tailored towards hardcore fans. In 2007 and 2011 on the big "round the world" legs, the setlist was much broader and included a lot more overplayed classics.

Since the initial 2015 leg of the BOS Tour was postponed, I wonder if in 2017 they will play additional TBOS tunes not played on the first leg. If they do, it would be a first!

These sets more tailored towards hardcore fans never reach Brazil :(. South America has never seen any song from AMOLAD played live! Will we see at least one this time? I hope so.

I hope so too, my friend! I had to miss the AMOLAD tour in 2006, and while it was great to see These Colours and Breeg in 2010, I will always be happy to hear more from that album. I hope this first leg has plenty of TBOS too, and doesn't turn into another En Vivo-type setlist.

I agree 100% with you! They have many songs that have been overplayed. Switch 2 minutes to midnight and RTTH for gems like Infinite Dreams and Flight of Icarus, play 6 songs from TBOS and one or two from AMOLAD and I will be happy.

It would make for a better live album too, assuming they do another one. I don't really need to hear Wicker Man, Blood Brothers, Dance of Death, TETMD, Wrathchild, or 2 Minutes live on CD... again... :P

Not sure if I understand this. but the En Vivo "type" set list is their typical new album tour type of set list....Whenever they tour new albums it's mostly 5-6 songs from the new album and classics......

It wasn't in 2006 or 2010. It's also a reflection on how similar En Vivo is to other live albums. At least Death on the Road had 6 new songs instead of 5, and a few surprises thrown in- Lord of the Flies, CIPWM, Brave New World. Meanwhile, En Vivo's setlist has over half its songs in common with Rock In Rio.

I don't really need to hear Wicker Man

"The Wicker Man", as a well-known and short song, will follow "The Red and the Black", to get the "classics" part of the crowd back into the show.

At least I'm hoping they use "The Wicker Man" for that slot, and not another "Wrathchild".

I guess Wicker Man would be alright as opposed to Wrathchild. Rainmaker would be even better though :P

That's true. I hope next time they record a live DVD it will be at the smallest place on the tour. It makes for a great spectacle to record in South America I know...but give us something new ;)

Guys, have they ever talked specifically about their setlists, especially the ones from their last tours? I'm really curious how they decide about the songs they are going to play live. Is it Steve Harris who decides 100% of the setlist? Why did they get so repetitive lately? I would like to know more about this!

I think they should record concert DVD/Album in Mexico this time. 2 sold out arenas ~25,000 people each time, and the theme of new album - The Mayan Civilization is paralell to the vibe of this place and people!

At first I was like HA!..but then, you're absolutely right, it would make perfect sense to record a new live DVD/album someplace in epic Mexico, Book of Souls, fashion :D

Although i would love something recorded in Portugal (couldn't resist, could i? ehehehehe), i have to admit Mexico would make sense because of the overall theme of the album. Good point.
