^ The young boy at the beginning of the song, before his house got burnt and his parents killed, pictures himself as Saint George or David. So I assume he is a western boy (but I may be wrong as I'm usually not that good at interpreting lyrics).
 
I can't see there being ninjas to represent Bushidō. To anyone who knows anything about Japanese history, that is really stupid. The ninja (for what they were) represented the antithesis of Bushidō in pretty much every way, and that's a pretty big thing.
 
Possibly off topic slightly, but I recently saw a good documentary about Ninjutsu and the traditions of the Iga people in medieval Japan. Not sure how historically accurate it was, but I'd like to read more.

I don't know if i only think this because of my excitment and the way i antecipate this new album, but i would not be very surprised if the band gave us some pretty detailed updates righ at the 1st of January. Kind of like a new year celebration in a way. That little "do not open until 2015" or something along those lines really got me thinking about that...
 
But the web guys could have a laptop or tablet with them and do an update from wherever they are. Or maybe it's possible they have something set up to auto update at a certain time.
 
Travis, you and I both know that the traffic on ironmaiden.com is enormous when there's an announcement. The website always goes down and New Year's Day is a public holiday in the UK. They won't be at work and they probably won't be paid to work from home.
 
Jan 1st is a stupid time to make an announcement, anyway. Everyone is hung the fuck over.

Come on, really? Let's be honest: Any day is a good day as far as good news are concerned. Also, why the hell not start 2015 with a blast?
 
Because you want your news to hit hard. You want the most amount of people to see it. I could be wrong, but watch how a lot of political parties treat days like Dec 24th/25th and Dec 31st and Jan 1st. They're news dump days. Nobody is paying attention, so that is when bad news gets released.

Well yeah, in political terms i totally agree. In Maiden terms though, i really think that at least it would be a cool strategy. Even if nobody sees it at first, it would snowball REALLY quick. Also, if the band is kind of on a mistery game, i think it would fit.
 
I think they're going to drag it out. Make everybody wait months, allow tiny hints that say next to nothing to drop. The way of the ninja.
