release date, album title, artwork, etc?

Those usually come in late spring, around April or May. What we're likely to hear in January is some idea of where Maiden is touring in 2015, and hopefully a rough estimate of how long until some kind of release (album or single).

Things like release date, album title, artwork, etc? I'm one of the people who think the album is already done

I am one of these people who thinks it's recorded but may still need mixing. They never seem to record everything in one studio for half their records. Maybe they have some parts of it recorded

On when Maiden will release the album and what type of touring they'll do for it. BNW was released before the tour, DOD was not and then AMOLAD was again released before the tour and then they again switched to not doing it with TFF so it's hard to say what they'll do next time.

I'm very certain that Maiden will follow a similar -if not identical- cycle to what they did for The Final Frontier. It's all about what sells, and TFF was a huge success for them. Part of the reason that album did so well is the way it was promoted, especially here in the US. They're not going to deviate far from that.

^ part of the reason it charted so well is because their fans buy the whole album, not just downloading singles like most other artists. I think the new one will chart well the first couple of weeks too thanks to the die hards

They are going to get as much hype as possible, going to release it when there's little competition, and try to get the illusive #1 US album that they are missing from their crown.

That's not realistic. Maiden has a strong die hard fanbase, yes. But that's not going to get them to #1. The diehard fanbase doesn't make a large enough dent. They don't need to promote the album to us, we're going to buy it no matter what. They need to promote it to the casual fans or people who might not know Maiden very well. TFF did so well because they toured the US right before its release and built a lot of hype around the album so that more people would buy it.

I'm not sure where you get that from, the band has always celebrated high charting albums. And why wouldn't they? When TFF went #1 in a bunch of countries that was a huge deal. The fact that thy don't get played on the radio much gives them even more pride when they have a high selling album.

And remember: This is the same band that intentionally released a single at Christmas time so that it would go to #1.

I guess I'm just thinking about how Bruce rants about various stuff like that and puts down pop singers who have number ones so I thought the band didn't really care about that. Something like that. A number one would here would be pretty sweet though.

I'd be very excited if the new album is called The Way of the Warrior, and it is a seven song concept album about the 7 Virtues of Bushido!

This!!...and I’d be absolutely thrilled if they dedicated one epic song, like “To Tame A Land”, to Robert E. Howard and his literary work of Conan and Hyborian Age (NOT about comics and stupid movies).
One can dream, right?

“I want, in a word, the frontier…land rich and unbroken and virgin, swarming with game and laden with fresh forests and sweet cold streams, where a man could live by the sweat of his hands unharried by taxes, crowds, noise, unemployment, bank failures, gang extortions, laws, and all the other wearisome things of civilization.”

-Robert E. Howard, letter to H.P. Lovecraft

Oh man. What is it everybody has with that theme lately?

So another countdown then with the actual announcement being that Adrian Smith has another side project?

Sounds like a Hammerfall ripoff. :innocent: (who themselves are also a ripoff)

As I've always pointed out, that's BS. Bruce is simply trying to put on a show and feed his crowd.

I confess I quite like the idea of Japan-related stuff. Not so much that "way of the warrior" and bushido stuff, but Japan in general. Everything they've done around that idea in the past was visually appealing (Maiden Japan and that fantastic tee shirt at the time of the earthquake), and I've got the feel that they haven't exploited the idea to its full potential. But the presence of those two ninjas doesn't mean much.

Maybe...but I think they represent two special guests on new album. Look in the left ninja and his pose. It looks like he holds the cello...so I guess...
TWO NINJAS = TWO SPECIAL GUESTS = 2CELLOS

Do you guys really think some japanese related stuff would really work well with Maiden? For some reason, and although i don't want to either sound offensive or be right, it kind of sounds geeky...
