AMOLAD is for sure one of my favourite metal albums of 2000s, and one of best Maiden effors in their career.

Guys, there is no reason to believe that it has already been recorded.

They always go in the studio for a few weeks for songwriting. We saw that happen just after the tour stopped and Maiden were spotted in Paris for a few weeks. They had to write the songs first before they record them. Writing takes a while. Recording takes a while. There's no way all that happened in the time when they were in Paris.

There is no way Maiden are going to book an expensive studio in Paris for nearly 3 months, fly an expensive producer from the other side of the pond to spend 2+ months there if they were not going to record the material with Kevin sat on the producer's chair... ;)

My bet is the album has been recorded and, if there is anything left to do with it, it might be the final touches (mastering, adding orchestral bits if required) and would not involve the band recording anything.

According to this article from 2010, Shirley finished mixing in April 2010 and according to an interview with Janick they went to Paris in November 2009

But yeah it's all speculation isn't it :) Shirley going to Paris then leaving could mean that he's been over there to record and then brought it back with him to mix ....But who knows?

The scenario was completely different 5 years ago. Maiden went to Paris to a rehearsal studio in 2009, which is the same place they sometimes use when rehearsing before tours. In 2014 they went to Paris to a recording studio, Guillaume Tell to be more precise. :)

Exactly :)

We have no proof that studio time was booked. We have no proof that anything happened, in fact. We have rumours.

Well, we don't know anything but like I said a few posts ago I also think that:

"Yeah, I think they're definitely either at the beginning of the actual recording or at least finished making the songs. That could leave January/February for Shirley to do the mixing, have Bruce do his vocal parts and then of course we know that Steve Harris will sit down with Shirley to overview the end result and tweak things here and there until he is satisfied :p"

And Cavemen (Shirley) posted a message on his Facebook as early as December 11th "My time in Paris is done and time to head home!" But he could still have Bruce, Steve etc come over to do the final touches....

There are some pics of Nicko's kit in the new FC mag that look like they were taken in one of the Guillaume Tell studios... just sayin'.

Either way, and even if it's not yet 100% finished, still think it's coming out soon. Before summer, for sure

I think the album is recorded. They wouldn't need Shirley for 3 months in the studio if they were just writing songs. Now, it's possible that it's yet to be mixed, cover to be made etc. I'd love it if they released it in May, but August looks more likely.

Without reading through many posts, why has May come up as a possible release date? Is this based on previous albums?
