Simon Dawson is the new drummer

Are u serious? If his dad got angry it's clear as day that Joe was one of the options. You do not anger at abstract/vague possibility. It was clearly audition of Simon and Joe and Steve choose Simon.
I am serious and it reeks of entitlement thinking that Joe was a shoe-in just because he'd been on retainer once.

And his dad sounds like an idiot saying that this is the worst decision of their career.

Worse than replacing Bruce with Blaze?

The bit about the dad on facebook is kinda pathetic, it's more like he's going to miss part of the big paycheck his son would get. Simon ain't a "new guy" by any means, I'm sure he'll perform like the professional he is. If anything it would feel wrong and sad to go for a guy that's half Nicko's age, like rubbing it in that Nicko was more or less fired because he couldn't play anymore. It's also a diplomatic recruitment.

Joe might aswell have been one of the possible options (we don't know until further evidence is revealed).
Maybe he was indeed but his dads angry outcome was so funny and pathetic so I had to post that comment here for you to see.
Steve Lazarus proves to be a true idiot, if he had any sort of reason, self-control and etc he would have kept silent on the whole matter.

I seem to recall Steve Lazarus briefly from an official documentary or two - how was he involved with the Maiden camp again?

I'd say he is more Clive Burr than Nicko.

In respect of the announcement re 2025 I think that is reasonable enough. See how gets on. If they decide to carry on and make another album etc in the future they can always upgrade him and make him an offical member- rather like Saxon did with Brian Tatler.

Few clips of him on here.

Wildly different band and I am not a fan but the Stones faithful seem to of accepted Steve Jordan who seems to of introduced more "swing" into their live performances.
