Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

@Mosh and all the mods. I think it should be possible to express all opinions. So you mean that praising Maiden is good while not liking some of the things they do is a problem? This is your forum and you can do whatever you like. I think we all need to understand thar we mostly have fun here. The financial thing is something that kept me out of the corporate fun club. If you guys think that we need to also pay here, I got no problem with that. I see this as an independent effort which I am willing to support....but closing the site till the release is just fascism!

It isn't an official single?
why is it there then
It was only officially released as a single, on a disc with B sides, in The Netherlands. It was sent to US radio stations for airplay but not in the single format, with the cover and everything - just your standard "promo use only".
A little later, Spain got a 45 of it, the only country to do so. No idea why.

So if you'd like me to clarify, it's not globally recognised as an official single, especially as it was never released as such in major territories - The UK (home soil), Japan, Australia, the Americas and Europe (except Netherlands).

So, if you wish me to be more precise, it's never been an official single in:

Another review, although very very short. 9/10.

This review points out ''The Parchment'' (mostly instrumental one) as a standout and ''Death Of The Celts'' as a gem. He is impressed by Steve's epics.

Some of Nicko's best performances to date (on ''The Time Machine''). ''Darkest Hour'' is described as a power ballad... (the other review earlier in the day mentioned ''Wasting Love'' for this song).

''Epic, explosive and, most importantly, exciting. The band have never sounded so thrillingly bestial. Senjustsu is nothing short of stunning''.

I'm a little bit nostalgic of the era when internet was not existing and when I had to wait until the final countdown to the day when the albums were released, wondering how they could sound and what were the lyrics, etc... These period was really exciting. Now, you have leaks one day before or earlier... It spoils the fun of the discovery the D-day release...
Back then, radio had much more importance in the promo. I remember hearing several songs of Seventh Son... (including the title track, so not only the singles) on a french radio (a program by Francis Zegut, for the french guys here) days before the release. He just announced "something new", without naming ther band or the song; and I only figured out it was Maiden when I heard Bruce's voice. Just to say we didn't have to wait until the vey final moments. And my record seller gave me their albums as soon as he received them, just like he gave me second BL album a few days before the official release.

Things are getting really testy in here...

The funny part is the argument was originally about singles released "before" the album. No album has had more than 1 officially released in the style Belshazzar means before the album, not 2 and certainly not 3.

It isn't. This forum has rules that regulate what is and isn't allowed, just like all areas, and while we generally allow people to spread their wings within those rules, they are there for a reason.

I read something the other day about how in a good online community, when someone thinks they've evaded the rules, it just means they're the first ones banned as moderators go "I didn't think I had to add a rule for that!"

Please obey the rules of this forum, and don't force us to make any changes.

"The mostly instrumental one" is a standout? A 12+ minute track mostly instrumental? Ouch!

It's not about listening to a leak, it's about sharing leaks and information on them on our board. Because if we did that, Maiden's lawyers would shut us down.
I get all of that, but what changed since 2015? We discussed the Leak of TBOS on this Board in spoilers on the 28th.

Just try to imagine that you are the guy who invest his money, time and talent to create something uniqe but some stupid guy leaks that and "fans" enjoying free content.

Guys, it's not the 20th century. I am sure, that 99,9% of people who'll listen to the leak (if it comes) are buying the album anyway. You don't have to listen to it if you don't want to. Some of us are not that patient.

With the streaming services and youtube, days of piracy in music are long gone. Maiden will probably upload the whole thing to youtube on the 3rd of September.
