Nothing new? What about the piano in EOTC?and nothing new or different
Hell on Earth confirmed to be in Drop-A. (Kidding)I think I see a loose string on one of the guitars in the background, clearly this album was made so quickly they didn't even tune!
(*sarcasm)
He produced Falling Into Infinity (1997). The contents were more commercial than usual, but it is definitely the best sounding album of their career (especially for the drum sound).Didn't he also produce some Dream Theater albums? Sep 3rd can't come soon enough!
Wouldn’t mind if H used a 7 string in drop-A to fill out the sonic spectrum a bit (not super loud in the mix) as it gets a bit messy with the three guitars doing the same rythm at times. I’ve done some “adding” when playing along and it works quite nice.Hell on Earth confirmed to be in Drop-A. (Kidding)
I wouldn't read too much into it. Steve uses the acoustic for figuring out songs and lyrics and whatnot in the studio, as seen in the AMOLAD studio footage where he's working out The Legacy with Janick. They had camera in the studio so there is a small chance for 'making of' video. There's acoustic bass - it always gets me excited.
I think he also did mixes for quite a few DT albums after that. Anyhow FII was awesome! He produced Falling Into Infinity (1997). The contents were more commercial than usual, but it is definitely the best sounding album of their career (especially for the drum sound).
Really? I thought Speed of Light was incredibly nondescript middle-of-the-road and nowhere near as catchy as Maiden's average 80s effortsI actually thought that TBOS did better than usual with the short rockers. Speed of Light was pretty close to classic Maiden. But yes I think they tend to do better with the epics.
To be fair, few songs are.nowhere near as catchy as Maiden's average 80s efforts
