Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

All this constant talk about Priest playing Knebworth on here, so for those too lazy to search Google, THEY'RE ALREADY HEADLINING BLOODSTOCK AND WILL BE ON AN EXCLUSIVITY CONTRACT!!!

The support may be not great but this crazy assumption that working artists around the world could just drop their touring plans to play one outdoor gig in England isn't how things work IRL.

And btw, The Darkness can pull in a much bigger audience than Helloween (another band constantly namechecked here).

Yes, but at the same time Rod has been going on about making Trooper VIP affordable for fans. And I think people going to Knebworth will start to feel shortchanged with the special things costing additional silly money.

Do people still believe his bombastic promotional bullshit?

If you are trying to get 100,000 people or thereabouts to make the effort to travel to a muddy field somewhere then in my opinion the lineup has to be of an equivalent stature to that of a major festival main stage day. As others have said, band availability can make this very difficult, especially when artists are planning their own tours or already playing Download or Bloodstock. As it stands though, the Knebworth show is for me a pretty poor value proposition, I am already busy on that day as it happens but even if I weren't this would be the first UK Maiden event since I started going to gigs that I would be in two minds about attending.

In what sense? I know Maiden do not charge support bands for the privilege of playing unlike other big names, but they surely should have been able to put together a stronger line-up with similar costs.

I wonder if they were hoping that The Darkness would help them shift a good number of tickets to casual fans, but with them announcing a headline arena tour this week, I am not sure that is a possibility anymore.
As far as I know Maiden actually pay their support bands. But someone like The Hu will be much cheaper to book than a bigger band that would actually make the lineup stronger and help to shift tickets.

Yeah, if the sales are so poor as some here suggest, the management would be forced to invite more attractive supports and/or cut the prices, maybe even cancel the Knebworth show and change the venue. So, time will tell.

There’s no way they’ll be cancelling such a high profile gig regardless of (allegedly disappointing) ticket sales.
