RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Btw have we talked about the first line of Tailgunner, which is:
“Trace your way back 50 years” !!!
Can this be a hint that the Tailgunner is the opening song :)
Yes. I think they'd rather go with the crowd-participating Bring Your Daughter from NPFTD, despite the lyrics. Tailgunner as an opener likely has the lowest chance of all the possible options because of its album. I really hope it's the title track - now that would be a big surprise teased by Bruce, and he likes it.
One thing that would actually be pretty exciting and new for Maiden would be arranging a medley of multiple songs. This would allow them to revisit all albums to some extent, without having to "sacrifice" a spot on the setlist for some of those songs. It would make perfect sense for an anniversary show and I know of other artists who have done similar. But knowing Maiden this will never happen, despite how fun it would be.
Maiden would never do a medley. Not a fan of them really.

No worries folks, I've already stated clearly that they won't do that lol

That said, medleys can be fantastic. There's a legendary rock singer in Greece called Vasilis Papakonstantinou. For his 30th anniversary as an artist he organized a special show with tons of guest musicians he had worked with in the past and released everything as a phenomenal live album. Due to his extensive discography the show had a few medleys, one going 16 minutes. They were very well arranged, flowed well from song to song and because of that he could cover some obligatory songs as well as some deep cuts that otherwise wouldn't make the cut.

Again, Maiden won't do that. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying that medleys do serve a purpose and can be quite fun if the arrangers put in the necessary care for that.

This. I think that if they play anything from SIT it will most likely be Stranger In A Strange Land. It's far from being overplayed, it's one of Bruce's favourite songs to sing and the band enjoyed playing it in last few years.
Or do like sentjutsu play any of the others. Loneliness maybe

Agreed. No one in Maiden is basing setlists on who co-wrote songs.
I agree and don't agree. I don't agree because it must be one of the factors in the equation. When someone's song is in the setlist, they probably gain an extra fee from that song's rights. So they must consider this factor too.
But on the other hand, Steve is the boss, and his first considerations are other stuff. Like the general feel, how the songs link to each other, the tempo, crowd pleasers towards the end etc...
But somewhere along the line, he knows that he must make his stuff happy too.
And on some tours, he is not the only boss in the setlist department. I remember the setlist for Legacy of the Beast was created by Bruce and probably Adrian (and Rod?).
And choosing songs basing on writers and co-writers is not a bad thing. it's for good reasons and it causes diversity.

PLEASE NO.
As I've stated, multiple times, you don't have to worry about that since it won't ever happen ;)

But I'd take a medley of the staples like RTTH, TNOTB and The Trooper any day over having them clog a third of the setlist. There's like a million live versions of those songs available. Anything to shake things up and change stuff would be welcome by me.

If they'll play unplayed songs, then by process of elimination I am currently left with Prodigal son, OTGDY & Run silent run deep.
OTGDY is the only possible one, imo and I don't know if they'd play that too. SSOASS should feature with a song or two ( or maybe 3), but the Clairvoyant seems a given (hasn't been played for years), Infinite Dreams could feature because of the book (and fans really want that), Moonchild and Evil have a chance, the title track also. It's the album that they could play any song from it. (well, not CIPWM and probably not Prophecy)

Yeah, in the meantime, I don't expect that they'll play unplayed songs. But rather one or two songs that were not in the set for many years or decades. I firmly expect Infinite dreams from SSOASS, as you already mentioned, because of the title of the book. I can just picture Bruce talking about the band's anniversary and the book, and then announcing the song.

Clairvoyant also seems to me to be the only other realistic song on this album. The title track is too closely tied to the album's 'concept' for me (also Moonchild), and I don't see it as an independent song in the set. Madness was included on the last tour, and TETMD has simply been played too often.

Why not both... ;)

^I don't think this is an obstacle for them, more so if they want to use SSOASS imagery on the screens. Moonchild? Probably.
