Ancient Mariner
A medley consisting of Steve's slow bass intro only, that'd be something ; )
Yes. I think they'd rather go with the crowd-participating Bring Your Daughter from NPFTD, despite the lyrics. Tailgunner as an opener likely has the lowest chance of all the possible options because of its album. I really hope it's the title track - now that would be a big surprise teased by Bruce, and he likes it.Btw have we talked about the first line of Tailgunner, which is:
“Trace your way back 50 years” !!!
Can this be a hint that the Tailgunner is the opening song![]()
Maiden would never do a medley. Not a fan of them really. One thing that would actually be pretty exciting and new for Maiden would be arranging a medley of multiple songs. This would allow them to revisit all albums to some extent, without having to "sacrifice" a spot on the setlist for some of those songs. It would make perfect sense for an anniversary show and I know of other artists who have done similar. But knowing Maiden this will never happen, despite how fun it would be.
Or do like sentjutsu play any of the others. Loneliness maybeThis. I think that if they play anything from SIT it will most likely be Stranger In A Strange Land. It's far from being overplayed, it's one of Bruce's favourite songs to sing and the band enjoyed playing it in last few years.
I agree and don't agree. I don't agree because it must be one of the factors in the equation. When someone's song is in the setlist, they probably gain an extra fee from that song's rights. So they must consider this factor too.Agreed. No one in Maiden is basing setlists on who co-wrote songs.
PLEASE NO.One thing that would actually be pretty exciting and new for Maiden would be arranging a medley of multiple songs
Definitely can.Forget it. No way Bruce would be capable of delivering the goods on this one any more.
As I've stated, multiple times, you don't have to worry about that since it won't ever happenPLEASE NO.
OTGDY is the only possible one, imo and I don't know if they'd play that too. SSOASS should feature with a song or two ( or maybe 3), but the Clairvoyant seems a given (hasn't been played for years), Infinite Dreams could feature because of the book (and fans really want that), Moonchild and Evil have a chance, the title track also. It's the album that they could play any song from it. (well, not CIPWM and probably not Prophecy)If they'll play unplayed songs, then by process of elimination I am currently left with Prodigal son, OTGDY & Run silent run deep.
Why not both...Yeah, in the meantime, I don't expect that they'll play unplayed songs. But rather one or two songs that were not in the set for many years or decades.
This. It's the album that they could play any song from it. (well, not CIPWM and probably not Prophecy)
^I don't think this is an obstacle for them, more so if they want to use SSOASS imagery on the screens. Moonchild? Probably.Clairvoyant also seems to me to be the only other realistic song on this album. The title track is too closely tied to the album's 'concept' for me (also Moonchild), and I don't see it as an independent song in the set.
If they are not going to open with bqobd. Moonchild is the one i want.Moonchild as the first encore is the dream, or anywhere in the middle of the set with band introduction and live acoustic intro.
As it's the 50th anniversary they probably should do a band intro as it's been a few tours since and they have Simon nowMoonchild as the first encore is the dream, or anywhere in the middle of the set with band introduction and live acoustic intro.
