We don't expect the choices from the 90's albums to be adventurous, but I have a feeling the songs won't be the obvious ones: Fear, Daughter and Afraid. They played Afraid in 2012/2013, so it could be omitted. I'm glad they already played some songs from the ME tour again (Madness, Prisoner, or Heaven) so we don't have to expect them. I know it would be expected because they're great live songs, they've been played before and because they're not that tough for Nicko (Afraid and Daughter), but I think it would be a surprise if they play songs like Daughter/From Here To Eternity/Prowler again. The less serious songs. I even doubt Running Free, despite the video teaser. With guest appearances, it is more likely.
Songs like:
- Tailgunner (played 2 years, included in the 1999 greatest hits compilation by the fans).
- Be Quick Or Be Dead (included in the same compilation and is a memorable opener from one of their live albums).
- Wasting Love (popular song).
- No Prayer (easy song and always considered the best on the album, plus Bruce likes it a lot).
Be Quick will be tough for Nicko, be he can work it out like CSIT. These songs have slightly more chances than Holy Smoke, Hooks In You, Public Enema, From Here To Eternity. Btw, Judas Be My Guide is one of the most liked deep cuts.
We expect them to be ''adventurous'' with the 80's deep cuts, but why not with at least 1 from the 90's. 3 songs from that era seems wild, but why not. Instead of Running Free, Sanctuary, Wrathchild (if they play the title track) or Run To The Hills (which won't sound good for sure).
Something different, you know. I think the new tour would have been perfect in place of the ME tour. Come to think of it, songs from that tour (from SBIT too) have been played again or could be played again now - Madness, Prisoner, Afraid, Clairvoyant, Wrathchild, Revelations, Seventh Son, Evil That Men Do, 2 Minutes, Phantom, Running Free/Sanctuary, Wasted Years, Aces High and the usual hits. This is my least favorite Maiden tour of all tours (too long; they could have done something different after the 2008 tour, although it was expected because of the 80's concert video and they weren't that bold with the setlists). I hope the new tour won't repeat that, more or less. Such a tour needs a special setlist with surprises (especially now, we won't have many chances) and a special stage. The expected classics will always be there and like the current tour shows, just 3 of them also work.
