I agree. If they were to play anything from NPFTD, it would have been this tour. Still, I would be happy to see the title track played on the next tour.

I don't think WY is a great closer; it doesn't work as well as Living After Midnight for Judas Priest or We Are the Champions for Queen. IMO, the best closer they have played so far was Running Free. In a dream setlist, I would love to hear Journeyman, followed by Hell on Earth as the encore.
...and why Childhood's End -one of the greatest songs IMO- has never been played live is another question..

For years we insisted them to play Alexander and they did it, and it worked great! That was the climax of Future Past. And now Infinite Dreams works great, added the missing point in the first leg. My question: Why do we have to insist them to play these gems? I dont think this happens with another legacy band. It's obvious that these songs will work live. And this is your work, this is why Maiden considered to be a "goat" which is beyond some hits...

Fear of the dark album is special for me my first ¿memory? listening to maiden was around 88 89 seventh son. But for sure when i was a real fan was since 1992 with fear of the dark album, live at donington cd and vhs. So for me its not that bad it has a special sound and vibe that for me reminds me that era but for sure people that grow up with another albums will find it weird. Because it is ,is very 90s

I wonder if maiden simply cares about this stuff much less than we fans do. I get the feeling that much of it is - what can we play reasonably well, will it shift tickets? The way you hear them talk it's like their hands are tied and someone else makes these decisions for them.
Like Steve saying he'd love to play only the good die young... It would be fascinating to understand what's stopping him.
Maiden have done so many films and documentaries and books but it always feels very corporate and arms length. I'd love to get an insight into these things, deep stuff that only nerds would give a shit about but maiden are so low key and private.

They only included Fear of the Dark in the "name" of the tour to justify playing the title track. That's why there is nothing from NPFTD. It's an Iron Maiden to Seventh Son tour, plus Fear of the Dark. They never intended to play anything from the nineties albums, apart from FOTD. Which is a shame, ATSS would have been great live. I will never understand why that song became forgotten.
We are different. Speaking for myself, I can't stand Sanctuary and Running Free. Glad they got removed. On the other hand, Hell on Earth is one of my favourite songs ever written.

If the next tour is not a new album and deep cuts, will be a whole catalogue non played in their last 2 tours with planty of deep cuts and reunion songs. Or thats my guess

Maybe it's just self-awareness. He perfectly understands that he and the other band members aren't young anymore - and are still alive and kicking. So they're old now, which means they'll have to play The Evil That Old Men Do on the next tour. Otherwise, they'd look like cheap hypocrites. It's really that simple.

Wasted Years is overplayed at this point, imo. I'd much rather hear Running Free or Sanctuary. Not that they are better songs, but because they would be more of a breah of fresh air than Wasted Years.
