RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

As someone who attended both Budapest shows I can say it was absolutely amazing! Simon absolutely killed it, and the band wasn't as nearly unpolished as they were in Ljubljana at the start of TFP tour, on the contrary. I loved the setlist and the new stage show, it definitely can't be experienced through clips on YouTube, you have to see it in action live.

As for people who are disappointed, I think it is all about your expectations. I knew Bruce meant the stage show when he talked about things they have never done before. Alex was an exception to the rule, not a new standard. Setlist for the ages? For me a setlist for the ages is definitely the one that has Rime and 7th son in it, not to mention others. As for No prayer, let's not pretend that album is a masterpiece when it isn't. I wouldn't be surprised if the band was ashamed of it, rightfully so IMO. They only slight disappointment was Aceh High, I was hoping for Be quick there, but I guess they don't rate other songs from Fear highly too (except Afraid I guess).

All in all 10/10, would go again!

It made me very sad that Maiden was so resistant to the demands of their true fans on this tour. This is getting really weird. They resisted and ignored our request of Alexander the Great for a long time, then miraculously we managed to see this song on stage, and it was the climax for most people on the previous tour. So we were right and we thought surprises like this could continue...

Then we came across a slightly changed version of Somewhere Back in Time!

Another disappointment is that we are criticized by some fans for criticizing the band. This is really absurd. If it were up to the band and these fans, we would be content with the song pool of 20 songs forever! Let's be honest, this is why Maiden can't be Metallica. If you can't present your magnificent discography to people, then everyone will think your music is just about just Run, Hallowed, Wrathchild and Trooper.

We forced Maiden to change 1-2 songs in a quarter of a century, while Metallica plays 40 songs in total for 2 days in a row without repeating any song! Ok their song structures are easier for them to learn the songs just before the show, but you are Iron Maiden, the true trail blazer in every area of this music genre... You should include more deep cuts in your songs that show the deepness of your music.

Apart from true fans, really doubt deep cuts would sell tickets. The number of true fans in countries would be much less as compared to those coming for mainstream tracks. At least that’s what my take is.

My experience from Budapest both nights: I lost it on Phantom, everyone else around me on TNOTB, I lost it on Clairvoyant and Powerslave, everyone else on 2MTM, I lost it on Rime, everyone else on RTTH, I lost it on 7th son, everyone around me on Trooper. . .

Hardcore fans are maybe 10% of people that go to shows, and that could also be generous honestly.

Exactly my point. While you and I trip on stuff like 22 Acacia, Still Life, Die with your boots on, Infinite dreams, Only the good die young, the world trips on more mainstream stuff. Well I’ll just be going to see them for the entire experience given they’ve never visited my country since 2009 & I doubt they ever will.

I don't think they would sell less tickets because they played Bring Your Daughter (it's their only no1 single) and Infinite Dreams (it was on top 10 UK even if it was the 4th single from 7th Son)... And they didn't sell less tickets because they played Alexander the Great last time. Probably they sold more because of that song, cause they made the news when they played it.

And they are Iron Maiden, they announce a tour without setlist and in one month all gigs are pretty much sold out anyway.

Ok so we got more and more photos that some of the screen animation are AI generated.

Why I am not suprised, they will to everything to save money. Less manpower because they are not using backdrops and less investment in proper animation studio.

And again it has been 13 years since the last high production live album. And so many fantastic tours in meantime without proper video release.

Well I guess, somehow they need to payoff all that privat jet flights for band.

Hmm, what have you lost so many times during one show? Your beer, maybe your wallet… or your jaw? :ninja:

I’d say ATG would be an exception for the reason it was every true fans dream to Witness that performance live. This in turn would have resulted in huge, huge hype, in turn leading to influence on other peers and concert goers. Again, this is my assumption & I could be wrong.

I can give examples of hundreds of big bands, who play decent number of their deep cuts and don't lose any tickets whatsoever. I saw Cure, they played more than 3 hours. They didn't play Love Song or Friday I'm in Love. And it was a festival.
So are these the same bands who’ve had good radio support & promotion by radio Channels?

I can be wrong too. We are just talking. For me, if they wanna get bigger, they should've played Wasting Love (one of the most popular songs of Maiden in streaming platforms) (I dont like that song but now if they ask me i would say YES! It would be at least a "new" song played only once) and Bring Your Daughter (only no1 single, and easy listening for many mainstream fans). They could again play Can I Play With Madness, one of their most known choruses.

I mean they could have made a much more "commercial" setlist than this if that was the only aim. Happily two of first three songs are deepcuts. (Murders and Killers) So, that's why it bugs me. They can play risky for some songs but some songs they can ignore very easily. Summary: From the most challenging tour (Future Past) they quickly went back to the roots of "pool songs".

Maybe they dont like the feedback from previous tour playing deep cuts and rare song so they decide to play on the safe side.

I am sure that feedback from causal fans for NPFD and FOTD songs would be better than they think. Some of these songs are popular in modern streaming system of music, even I know some people who never listen to IM but they have Be quick or Tailgunner on their gym workout music.

I can’t believe that Simon didn’t grow his hair out in the six months since he knew he’d be playing for Maiden. Short haired wanker with his small drum kit trying to be seen on the fucking stage. Who are you bro, what kind of balls do you got. Fuck me.
