Finally have a drummer who’ll be visible in photographs & who won’t be obscured by the drumsetView attachment 42566
Found on Instagram. Lovely picture! It's great to see Simon smiling and having a great time and being accepted by so many fans.
Apart from true fans, really doubt deep cuts would sell tickets. The number of true fans in countries would be much less as compared to those coming for mainstream tracks. At least that’s what my take is.It made me very sad that Maiden was so resistant to the demands of their true fans on this tour. This is getting really weird. They resisted and ignored our request of Alexander the Great for a long time, then miraculously we managed to see this song on stage, and it was the climax for most people on the previous tour. So we were right and we thought surprises like this could continue...
Then we came across a slightly changed version of Somewhere Back in Time!
Another disappointment is that we are criticized by some fans for criticizing the band. This is really absurd. If it were up to the band and these fans, we would be content with the song pool of 20 songs forever! Let's be honest, this is why Maiden can't be Metallica. If you can't present your magnificent discography to people, then everyone will think your music is just about just Run, Hallowed, Wrathchild and Trooper.
We forced Maiden to change 1-2 songs in a quarter of a century, while Metallica plays 40 songs in total for 2 days in a row without repeating any song! Ok their song structures are easier for them to learn the songs just before the show, but you are Iron Maiden, the true trail blazer in every area of this music genre... You should include more deep cuts in your songs that show the deepness of your music.
My experience from Budapest both nights: I lost it on Phantom, everyone else around me on TNOTB, I lost it on Clairvoyant and Powerslave, everyone else on 2MTM, I lost it on Rime, everyone else on RTTH, I lost it on 7th son, everyone around me on Trooper. . .Apart from true fans, really doubt deep cuts would sell tickets. Exactly my point. While you and I trip on stuff like 22 Acacia, Still Life, Die with your boots on, Infinite dreams, Only the good die young, the world trips on more mainstream stuff. Well I’ll just be going to see them for the entire experience given they’ve never visited my country since 2009 & I doubt they ever will.My experience from Budapest both nights: I lost it on Phantom, everyone else around me on TNOTB, I lost it on Clairvoyant and Powerslave, everyone else on 2MTM, I lost it on Rime, everyone else on RTTH, I lost it on 7th son, everyone around me on Trooper. . .
Hardcore fans are maybe 10% of people that go to shows, and that could also be generous honestly.
Hmm, what have you lost so many times during one show? Your beer, maybe your wallet… or your jaw?My experience from Budapest both nights: I lost it on Phantom, everyone else around me on TNOTB, I lost it on Clairvoyant and Powerslave, everyone else on 2MTM, I lost it on Rime, everyone else on RTTH, I lost it on 7th son, everyone around me on Trooper. . .

I’d say ATG would be an exception for the reason it was every true fans dream to Witness that performance live. This in turn would have resulted in huge, huge hype, in turn leading to influence on other peers and concert goers. Again, this is my assumption & I could be wrong.I don't think they would sell less tickets because they played Bring Your Daughter (it's their only no1 single) and Infinite Dreams (it was on top 10 UK even if it was the 4th single from 7th Son)... And they didn't sell less tickets because they played Alexander the Great last time. Probably they sold more because of that song, cause they made the news when they played it.
And they are Iron Maiden, they announce a tour without setlist and in one month all gigs are pretty much sold out anyway.
So are these the same bands who’ve had good radio support & promotion by radio Channels?I can give examples of hundreds of big bands, who play decent number of their deep cuts and don't lose any tickets whatsoever. I saw Cure, they played more than 3 hours. They didn't play Love Song or Friday I'm in Love. And it was a festival.

Bro be realistic.Wasted, Aces(easily), even 2 Minutes, Murders, Powersalve.
I can’t believe that Simon didn’t grow his hair out in the six months since he knew he’d be playing for Maiden. Short haired wanker with his small drum kit trying to be seen on the fucking stage. Who are you bro, what kind of balls do you got. Fuck me.
