RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

For a band set in there ways, yes it is too much for them rotating sets lol.
It's true that they've always been ''lazy'' with the setlists, but after the songs on the last tours, the new stage and the replacement of a band member live, it's normal for the fans to think of more rare songs. Now, rare songs for them were Prisoner and Heaven in the last tour, so. For this tour are: Clairvoyant, Phantom and the 4 truly rare songs. But they could have changed Aces and Wasted - and still have a good and crowd participating encore (Hills).

Like the 2022 leg, they could have changed a good number of songs (easily), but let's say they had an excuse with the theatrics.
After having watched videos of the ‘new’ stage production. Is it just me or after all the talk of a totally updated stage is it still just the 2003 Dance of Death set up with the drapes now replaced with screens?
I think they couldn't change the shape of the stage because of the giant screen. And because of Bruce's singing above the drums. The whole show could have looked even bigger. The props were probably omitted for the same reason.
They could have used more pyro, for sure.
I think we can all agree that they shouldn't replace more than 3 songs. So, 80% of the setlist is perfect.
Yeah, in the encore. 2-4 songs.
The encore was totally anti climatic, swap out Aces and Wasted Years and the complains would definitely be less, even if it was Tailgunner, FOTD and Running Free
Anti climatic is a good way to put it, with these songs(!) Overplaying semi-staples always has that effect. Less for sure.
I really thought they hinted at Sanctuary, which I definitely prefer more. The casual fans just need the big 6 songs. That's it. It's easy. The fans like us here deserve more. The other complains are nothing compared to the setlists.
It's not that I'd be against it (for obvious reasons), but I wonder how big percentage of the ticket holders would actually be willing to trade Aces High for Tailgunner? Could be many, I don't know, but this kind of brings us back to the reason behind No Prayer's lack of live representation in general: almost all, if not ALL of its potential setlist inclusions have a superior equivalents in the earlier, and perhaps even later catalogue.
So as much as I'd love to hear some of those No Prayer tracks, it's kind of easy to see why they're not being brought upfront. Bring Your Daughter could be an exception that makes the rule, but given the pace of the set and sheer amount of songs, it seems that they didn't want to put in many extended sing-along, jam & crwod interaction moments.
We can't compare NPFTD songs with the classics, but you could say that the casuals don't want many new album songs. What's the difference? It's of their least popular albums, but they played Blaze era songs. The band should respect all of their albums. They don't even want a crowd sing-along song like Daughter, which is odd.
I think it would've been disrespectful to Nicko to suddenly debut songs they never played live before now that he's retired from touring.
Interesting thought. I guess they just don't want to play some of the rare songs for whatever reason. Which is a bit odd after the latest tours. Both Nicko (I think they would have played Sun And Steel with him) and Bruce have expressed a desire for more rare songs in the future, and for Bruce, Rime, Seventh Son are probably high on the list. I doubt his hype comments are ambiguous on purpose, for them rare songs are different from ours. Maybe Steve doesn't want too many changes? Bruce probably doesn't want to sing Infinite and Land.
What fucking songs would they have changed brother
Wasted, Aces(easily), even 2 Minutes, Murders, Powersalve. Although the latter two are essential with their animations. All animations are cool. CGI graphics are not something new for the band, lol.

01.Murders in the Rue MorgueHarris
02.WrathchildHarris
03.KillersDi'Anno/Harris
04.Phantom of the OperaHarris
05.The Number of the BeastHarris
06.The ClairvoyantHarris
07.PowerslaveDickinson
08.2 Minutes to MidnightSmith/Dickinson
09.Rime of the Ancient MarinerHarris
10.Run to the HillsHarris/Dickinson

11.Seventh Son of a Seventh SonHarris
12.The TrooperHarris
13.Hallowed Be Thy NameHarris
14.Iron MaidenHarris
15.Aces HighHarris
16.Fear of the DarkHarris
17.Wasted YearsSmith

Looking at the setlist this has to be the Harris-heaviest in a long while, right? Only 5 of the songs don't have a sole Harris credit (though RTTH is officially only credited to him, due to contractual reasons). Another couple of those 5 were co-written by him, leaving Powerslave and Wasted Years as the only tracks in the setlist without Steve's involvement.

I'd have to check with some of the other tours to see if other setlists were skewed this heavily as well.

I'm sure Bruce wanted Aces High in that position. Nobody persuaded him or even forced him.
I don't know what's going on in his head of course, but maybe something like he felt very fit and wanted to prove he could do it?
Or because of the Churchill speech and visuals they thought it was a cool choice for the first encore

Ah yes, but would you be up for the 10-year anniversary of the 10-year anniversary tour for Senjutsu?

Dave will be out there, strutting sitting around (in his wheelchair), at the strapping young age of 84, going 86 at the time of the tour finish. :D
As long as he mezmerizes us with his smile

We can't compare NPFTD songs with the classics, but you could say that the casuals don't want many new album songs. What's the difference? It's of their least popular albums, but they played Blaze era songs. The band should respect all of their albums.

The difference is that a new album songs are usually represented in a setting that has significant focus on them in the first place; No Prayer stuff, being an older album/even a cult classic, if you want to consider it as such, competes against other classic songs. Blaze era songs such as The Clansman and Sign of the Cross, as far as I know, weren't played just for the sake of 1995-98 representation but because some of the key members seem to enjoy performing them and they fitted the Legacy show themes perfectly.

I find it easy to criticize the performance of Aces High in the encore, but a lot harder to criticize the fact that none of the 80's classics were replaced with Tailgunner or some other No Prayer cut.

"The band should respect all of their albums" is a nice thought, but it doesn't really come across, or even work that well in terms of setlist approach.

The point I'm trying to make is that the band probably doesn't think much about "respecting all albums" if the album(s) in question don't have songs that they really want to - or feel need to - bring upfront.

So as much as I'd like to hear a No Prayer cut, preferably the title track, I can see the logic behind not playing one. Honestly, I'm all for rarities and whatever, but I might actually prefer even The Clairvoyant over Tailgunner, for example. :D

Just few negative things (watching YT full concert)... Phantom screen of opera was awful, few animations looked cheap (with current tech they can do so much better stuff), predictable set list - I expected one more track from POM (TTAL or SAS), I expected they would close concert with Sanctuary. Aces High should be retired, I love that song, but Bruce can't sing this anymore. Very similar list was played in 2005 tour, at the time they said that was last time they will play those tracks. They have so much to choose from 80's albums, but I guess they are too lazy to reherse "new" tracks. They should change 2 or 3 tracks for next year's EU tour (drop AH and Wasted Years and Seventh Son or Clairvoyant). BQOBD instead AH, Sanctuary instead Wasted Years and TTAL instead Seventh Son (that track is too repetitive for my taste and is too familiar with middle section to Mariner). Everything else is positive, including Simon's drumming.

This set list is based on current one with few changes (running order is adaptable). I think something like this would be OK for Europe 2026 leg of the tour.
1.BE QUICK OR BE DEAD
2.WRATHCHILD
3.KILLERS
4.PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
5.MURDERS IN RUE MORGUE
6.THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST
7.STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND
8.POWERSLAVE
9.RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER
10.THE TROOPER
11.THE CLAIRVOYANT
12.RUN TO THE HILLS
13.FEAR OF THE DARK
14.IRON MAIDEN

ENCORE:
15.TO TAME A LAND
16. HALLOWED BE THY NAME
17.SANCTUARY

Just checked a few performances from 1999, 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2022 and it seems you're correct.
They're also noticeably sung like a main vocalist would approach these lines, compared to how Adrian sang them in the 80s. Maybe his solo project leaving an impression?
From that shitty quality YouTube video from above, it seems like he's singing the lines about the same he did on LAD though? I think that's the impetus for it, they've been doing the songs a lot closer to the studio versions (see the extra guitar lead fills in Rime, the MIA until now guitar part in Phantom, Seventh Son's ending) so it makes sense they'd also go back to the 80s live approach on certain things. Here they're quite desperately needed, since Bruce has absolutely no power on Aces High's chorus.

The pitches are the same obviously, but he has evolved quite a bit as a singer since the 80s. The 2025 features more vibrato and other stylistic choices, missing in the 80s version. That's what I meant.

I am hyped to see the show in London

It’s been said to death already but I would have definitely switched Aces High out for Tailgunner or BYDTTS. I don’t know what Bruce/they are thinking having this song in the encore again

Apart from BYDTTS being hammy and a bit “cringe”, I wonder why they omitted it as it is a song even my non maiden friends know well so more than fits the criteria for casuals

Another nit pick would be that the sequencing between Rime, Run, 7th feels a bit odd. But aside from moving 7th to the start of the encore i have no better suggestions
