RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Another option could've been moving Aces High to the main set, but they really seem to like it in the encore.. sigh.
As for Wasted Years, I still kinda disagree. Running Free is fun, but I still take Wasted Years over it. Prowler would be cool, but I personally feel it more as "either way is fine" rather than it being a preference over Wasted Years. But yeah, I think it's cool that they went with bit of a Maiden England type of setlist pace, which is positively unrelenting. The only stumble being the spot for Aces High...
I prefer Prowler to all. Classic early Maiden!

It's bad, but having Aces as an opener again wouldn't have been cool. You know, something different. I understand the inclusion and popularity of both songs. If the song was skipped in 2012-2014 and even 2022, it would have been different, or if the ME tour (probably my least favorite tour) was completely different (90's theme, SIT+SSOASS) - the current tour would have been... fresh, to say. The tour is still too close (but right for the celebration) to SBIT. But it's still not for Bruce now. And he can't let the crowd sing the whole chorus like Hills. I'm not sure if they'll play the likes of Running or Sanctuary again (always work live), I like Wasted Years more, probably one of their most effective closers (massive live), but it's getting overplayed and frankly boring. Why not Hallowed as a closer again? The pace is expected. Killers is the only pure unique song this tour.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the whingebags around here, especially those who decided this tour wasn't good enough for them and felt the need to sell their tickets, 'cause I just got a ticket to London, fuckerrrrrrrrs

In a month's time I can join you all in complaining about Aces Hovering-Slightly-Above-the-Ground, AI crossbows, the abomination of a setlist, Bruce's trousers, the weather and whatever else gets under your skin over the next few weeks.

:ninja:, /s, and whatever else is needed to show I'm just jostling you. But I really have got a ticket :)

I agree, but it's not like Aces High has to be either opener or encore opener only at this point. They've already played it as both and as a last song of the set, so I don't think having it somewhere in the middle would've been totally unthikable. Pacingwise its intro and all that doesn't fit too well anywhere else than on the opening spot(s), but I mean... There are options. But as it is, seems like they want to go with encore Aces for now.

I get your point about Wasted Years, although I still disagree to an extent; as mentioned eaelier, it's not nearly as "overplayed" as some other regular numbers and while I get that obligation to play it isn't quite as big as for... say, The Trooper, I still find its inclusion & spot as one of the most minor problems in the current set. Especially when so many other songs have been played repeatedly as closers anyway.

But yeah, I gladly agree to disagree about Wasted Years. ;) To each their own, it's just cool that people have different preferences on these things.

In any case, I'm quite sure that at the end of the show I'll be attending in two weeks, after witnessing the band in their late 60s play Rime, Powerslave, Seventh Son and all those gems with their current energy, Wasted Years doesn't feel boring but a... celebration.

Don’t forget Simon's small kit, reuse of Trooper Eddie, use of iconic "scream for me" and "Good night from Iron Maiden", and Janick not dancing enough (never thought I'd hear that one)

I think we should give Steve Harris a chance to sing Aces High on this tour.

Why are you all laughing at my suggestion? Given what Bruce is doing to the song on this tour (butchering it, murdering it, you name it), I think we should give Steve a chance.

In fact, we should follow John Lennon’s example and create the Plastic Maidenfans Band, so we can all sing:

All we are saying is give Steve a chance

Two, one-two-three-four!
Ev'rybody's talking 'bout
Bagism, Shagism, Dragism, Madism, Ragism, Tagism
This-ism, that-ism, is-m, is-m, is-m
All we are saying is give Steve a chance
All we are saying is give Steve a chance
Hit it (the right note, unlike Bruce)
C'mon, ev'rybody's talking about
Ministers, sinisters, banisters and canisters
Bishops and Fishops and Rabbis and Popeyes and bye-bye, bye-byes
All we are saying is give Steve a chance
All we are saying is give Steve a chance
Let me tell you now
Ev'rybody's talking 'bout
Revolution, evolution, masturbation, flagellation, regulation, integrations
Meditations, United Nations, congratulations

I think the last point is not fair, because that was more concern than a complaint. (That Janick could have (had) health problems.)
Let's hope that's not the case.

Edit: gone back and watched some footage. He seems okay demeanor wise and still moving around a bit. People have said Steve isn't running around as much either. They just could be winding it down now, they are all a year older.

And Yoko does the intro screams on Killers... As a tribute to the original Plastic Ono band.

I think it's normal to have some criticism. The fans just want 1-2 changes, especially Aces, which is one of their worst choices ever! It's like it almost spoils the set. We have the right. Change:

1) Aces - with Tailgunner (a NPFTD song, they didn't want Daughter for some reason) to keep the cool Spitfire video, or with Be Quick (more action for Janick; a slower song like Wasting Love could work there too).
2) Wasted Years (although it's an anthem) - with Sanctuary, Running Free or Prowler (a tribute to the early days)...

and that's it. Is that too much? To have a more unique (like every tour, and memorable, too) set. Come on. All big hits are there, without Evil. Save songs like Infinite, Land, Boots, etc for the next tour. All good. You can't help but enjoy this tour. It's a perfect Hits set, more or less. Add one or two Reunion era songs and it's the ultimate Maiden show.

Also, some of the ''complains'' about the stage show (like for me: clip for Number and no inflatable big Eddie) are normal too when they present something new. And because we know they can think of better things for some.
I don't mean comments like that; hell, I have them as well. Criticism is fine. I'm referring to more obnoxious rants that have no basis other than to mock or inflame.

Re IEM, my guess (and that's all it is, my opinion) is that as its a very tight show with interaction between the performance and the backdrop that Simon is following cues and has to be in coordination with whomever is controlling the video. For example, "HBTN" must be locked in due to the effect featuring Bruce. I think its also why the opening drum roll on "MITRM" has fluctuated; Simon absolutely CAN play it exactly, but if he's performing to a countdown it might explain why he's pulling the third roll short in order to come in on time for the band's cue. They're still working out the bugs but it's getting cleaner.
