RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Re IEM, my guess (and that's all it is, my opinion) is that as its a very tight show with interaction between the performance and the backdrop that Simon is following cues and has to be in coordination with whomever is controlling the video. For example, "HBTN" must be locked in due to the effect featuring Bruce. I think its also why the opening drum roll on "MITRM" has fluctuated; Simon absolutely CAN play it exactly, but if he's performing to a countdown it might explain why he's pulling the third roll short in order to come in on time for the band's cue. They're still working out the bugs but it's getting cleaner.
Possible. I also noticed that at the Prague show Simon played (was it only at first) Aces slower, actually the whole encore. Could the tempo be because of that or he is just tired at that point? I'm not sure but the tempos were faster the next show. Not Nicko's tempos though.

Steve screwed up the bass in the middle section transition to Mariner the other night. Instead of continuing he stopped and then started over. He likely wouldn’t have done that if there was a click throughout that section.
I did some quick measurements yesterday, and there does seem to be a click track for some parts of Rime, though not for the whole song. (See page 97; addendum: some idiosyncrasies make me consider that instead of a click track, it could even be something like a pre-recorded drum backing track as well)
If there is someone with a bit of expertise and time, I'd be interested in a more thorough analysis, as I won't have the time today.

I noticed the slowered tempo too. I doubt it was because of fatigue. Rod called the 60k gig a "warm-up" show and although he may have been joking, there's some truth to that as well. If anyone benefited from the tempo change on "Aces," it was Bruce.

No doubt—it’d be a night to remember!

Yep. A night to remember tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after, and the day after...

The final part of the previous sentence could well be a chorus written by Steve Harris himself!

Only now, a week later, am I here reacting to the new show. I've been traveling and very busy this past week, but I managed to read almost all the instant reactions to the setlist as it was being revealed (I went page by page, to simulate the anticipation for each new song).

And what can I say is that the main set is incredible. Let's be honest, after a tour totally focused on us, the die-hards, it was understandable that the band would play a safe set, more aimed at casual fans. And what do they give us? Killers, Phantom, Powerslave, Rime, Seventh Son and Hallowed in the same set! Honestly, I don't understand all the criticism. I think they managed to strike an almost perfect balance between pleasing both us, the die-hards, and those who are seeing the band for the very first time or who don't know much beyond the classics. The only unforgivable thing, as is almost unanimous here, is Aces High opening the encore. There was no need for it to even be on the set, let alone in a position that does nothing to favor Bruce's voice or the band's energy. Swapping her places with Number of The Beast would already be a great step, but knowing the band, I think it's unlikely that will happen. As for the deeper cuts, besides having Killers, Murders, Phantom, Rime and Seventh Son, which I consider as such, Infinite Dreams would certainly make the setlist perfect, but anyway, you can't have everything.

As for the biggest news, Simon is doing really well (I'm pleasantly surprised) and the new production is beautiful and different from anything we've ever had, which is great. It was about time the band allowed itself to be more modern, both to attract younger audiences and to give us a bigger stadium show. The Legacy of The Beast production, which is the band's best ever, would be hard to beat. So I'm glad the band has gone down a completely new and different path.

That said, let's enjoy it! Our favorite band is still giving us an excellent show after 50 years on the road! That's cause for celebration, right?

This is pretty much perfect. The alternate version IMO:

1). The Ides Of March (tape)
2). Murders in the Rue Morgue
3). Wrathchild
4). Killers
5). Phantom Of The Opera
6). No Prayer for the Dying
7). The Number Of The Beast
8). The Clairvoyant
9). Powerslave
10). 2 Minutes To Midnight
11). Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
12). Run To The Hills
13). Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
14). The Trooper
15). Hallowed Be Thy Name
16). Iron Maiden
ENCORE
17). Running Free
18). Fear Of The Dark
19). Wasted Years

Or, with the same number of songs:

1). The Ides Of March (tape)
2). Murders in the Rue Morgue
3). Wrathchild
4). Killers
5). Phantom Of The Opera
6). The Number Of The Beast
7). The Clairvoyant
8). Powerslave
9). 2 Minutes To Midnight
10). Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
11). Run To The Hills
12). Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
13). The Trooper
14). Hallowed Be Thy Name
15). Iron Maiden
ENCORE
16). Tailgunner
17). Fear Of The Dark
18). Wasted Years

It's so easily fixable. The set with No Prayer and Running Free is IMO the best possible one for this tour.
The first one, with No Prayer early in the set and Running Free opening the encore would be great and more likely than the second, imo, 'cos the last 6 songs (encore included) are clearly aimed to the casual fans, being a sequence of classics (my wife, which is a casual, liked specially the last 6 ones, when I showed her the set). Another alternative, if Aces High is really as untouchable as it seems to be, would be to swap it with The Number of The Beast.
