It was the best Maiden have sounded since like 2008.
Maiden sound great now and Bruce still hits all notes and sounds as good as ever (without Aces; let's hope it will maintain a decent level somehow), but let's not diminish the previous tours until 2018.
The current tour will be remembered as one of their best, in every way. Effects like during Rime and Hallowed are part of the
key.
I'm not understanding all of these trolling comments at all.
I think it's normal to have some criticism. The fans just want 1-2 changes, especially Aces, which is one of their worst choices ever! It's like it almost spoils the set. We have the right. Change:
1) Aces - with Tailgunner (a NPFTD song, they didn't want Daughter for some reason) to keep the cool Spitfire video, or with Be Quick (more action for Janick; a slower song like Wasting Love could work there too).
2) Wasted Years (although it's an anthem) - with Sanctuary, Running Free or Prowler (a tribute to the early days)...
and that's it. Is that too much? To have a more
unique (like every tour, and memorable, too) set. Come on. All big hits are there, without Evil. Save songs like Infinite, Land, Boots, etc for the next tour. All good. You can't help but enjoy this tour. It's a
perfect Hits set, more or less. Add one or two Reunion era songs and it's the ultimate Maiden show.
Also, some of the ''complains'' about the stage show (like for me: clip for Number and no inflatable big Eddie) are normal too when they present something new. And because we know they can think of better things for some.
Loved the set but if I'm honest I prefer a mix of old and new. I missed a lot of the reunion classics so I hope it's not too long for a new record and tour.
This.
MITRM might be a brave choice for an opener but it doesn't work.
Murders is a surprising (to say, an early popular cut) opener for a ''50th anniv tour'', but it works given its structure. It's written to be an opener, although it's not on the album, perhaps because of its intro.
