RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I will say this, and I give the likelihood of this happening at around 0, but the screens theoretically mean they could rotate songs around since they aren't dependent on physical drapes. Maybe they swap songs for a second night in a city?
I will stop to expect setlist changes from Maiden. It's not funny anymore.

And I think, probably because of the new stage show and screens - they added some overplayed songs. Which is not cool, such an unfortunate roll of things.

My excitement level for each song when this tour comes to the US:

1. Ides of March 1/5 (its playback so it doesn't fully count)
2. Murders 5/5
3. Wrathchild 3/5
4. Killers 5/5
5. Phantom 5/5 (Never seen them play this one!)
6. NOTB 3/5 (Never disappoints though)
7. The Clairvoyant 3/5 (Not my favorite, but I've also never seen them play it)
8. Powerslave 4/5
9. 2MTM 3/5
10. Rime 6/5 (indescribable how excited I am to finally see this)
11. RTTH 2/5
12. SSoaSS 4/5
13. Trooper 2/5
14. Hallowed 3/5
15. Iron Maiden 2/5 (It was always gonna be here)

16. Aces High 2/5 (I didn't mind it in '22 but I prefer it as an opener)
17. FotD 2/5 (It was always gonna be here)
18. Wasted Years 3/5 (Really good closer, but I'd prefer something else)

Either way, that's 6 songs (7 if you count Ides of March) I've never seen them play before.

I can be content with this setlist.

That would be really cool. Really, really cool.

But nah. Not gonna happen.

In short, Aces is the downer of the excellent setlist. Wasted Years was amazing.

Adrian played Lados for all standard tuned songs, apart from WY. Put in Bring Your Daughter instead of Aces and you have a winner. Or Running Free...

I’m happy with four Powerslave songs, although Aces should have been the opening track. I have a theory that the band subconsciously wanted to relive that tour, which was their heyday of sorts. Also, I like Wasted Years as the closing song because it’s feel-good and really fits lyrically. The absence of Running Free is somewhat shocking. Overall, it’s a great set with nice graphics, but the big Eddie should have been real.

My take on what I saw through an Instagram feed is, yes, the set is rather pedestrian than what they could have dug out with only two songs having not been played since before Somewhere Back in Time. If I were to tweak anything, I'd put Prowler in instead of Wrathchild and Infinite Dreams in instead of The Clairvoyant. Tailgunner could also have worked in the Aces High slot.

But, fucking hell, these visuals in person are going to be a sight to behold.

I'm going to say something controversial here, and Maiden is my favorite band of all time, but this tour feels so incredibly overhyped at the moment. Bruce's "this is a setlist for the ages" and his promise of "doing stuff we've never done before". It all feels like a big marketing stunt at this point.

Sure there was the big ass screen and sure they played Rime, 7th son, Powerslave, Killers, Phantom and what not. But compared to the LotB tour this was nothing special at all. Especially after a massive tour like the Future Past Tour playing songs from an album they hadn't touched in years!

I might even say that I think this is by far the weakest "hits" tour we've had. SBiT was World Slavery 2.0. Maiden England was 7th Son tour 2.0. The Future Past was Somewhere in Time 2.0. Those tours were hyped up but with good reason! This? This feels like they took elements from all those tours (and LotB ) put in a blender and label it as "50th anniversary tour"

This feels so much like "okay let's throw in some Killers tracks as opening songs, Rime and 7th son and people will lose their minds. They won't care for the rest". I will still go and see them in Arnhem later this year but man. So many missed chances on here. No love for NPFTD. No love for deep cuts or songs thay haven't been played for years. Don't know exactly how to feel emotionally....

I don't mind WY closing since I love the song, and I love they're finally treating it like the staple it should've been, but I did think it's started to wear down in a weird way where it just doesn't come across nearly as good as it used to when it was rarer. Might be Bruce's strained voice, might be the tempo being a bit weird in parts. Still, better than forcing out RTTH. Aces High just plane sucks now and has for a while, pun intended.

When I see them in London for my 6th show I'll be happy to see many songs I have yet to see live;
Murders in the Rue Morgue
Killers
Phantom of the Opera
The Clairvoyent
Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

I've been to;
A Matter of Life and Death
Final Frontier
Book of Souls
Legacy of the Beast
Future Past

I don't care that maybe some material was missed, or repeated. It could always be the last time I get to see them live, so I am going to go and enjoy it.

I wonder if he will jump back onto the Jacksons after a few gigs.. Personally I am stoked to see the Lados! Makes me wonder whether they've literally been locked up in the warehouse since the mid 80s, or whether H has had them at home to jam on but never got around to touring them again until now?
